There was always a internal struggle between the two sides (AlchemyII and WoW) over a lot of small things regarding The World of Teddy (Teddy's name even being one of them). Quellor was not part of AlchemyII's original storyline and MAVO was meant to be a group of guys like Tweeg instead of an organization that had any chance of bringing darkness across the land of Grundo. WoW and the TV writers thought that a 'real' bad guy was necessary to have a successful TV show... Ken and the writers decided on a formula that kept Quellor as slapstick as possible while still giving him some evil powers. The lightning coming from his hands in the opening credits is likely there just to add dramatic effect to those credits or perhaps Quellor had a few extra powers when the series' began production that he did not have by the time the shows were completed.
Myself, I am in between the two thought processes on Quellor. I appreciate the moral lessons of having all the bad guys like Tweeg... and the extremely hilarious moments that can come out of that. At the same time, Quellor and MAVO added a lot of adrenaline to the series.

Hi all,
I'm planning on adding two new sections to the site very soon. One will be "My Favorite..." which will replace the Fan Tribute section. Here, I'll be asking fans to complete essays about their favorite Teddy stuff.... you can add pictures, YouTube style videos, etc. I think this will help possible manufacturers of Teddy see the long-lasting appeal that he has.
The second section I'm adding will be Adventure Series Reviews (The stories that play in the toy)
Anybody that can help out with either it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks for posting this!
To everyone, especially since these are so low priced at just over $8, I'd most certainly advise getting 2 or 3 sets at least. I have no inside information, just a gut feeling that these won't be in print for a long period of time like regular movies. They will then become either hard to find or expensive.... with the exception being volume #1 as Wal~Mart ordered a large quantity for their $5 dump bin and they are all over the internet.
I am getting 2 extra copies of volume one and at least 3 extras of the second and third volumes... at this price you can't afford not to.

Thanks Kayla for the kind words.
I certainly anticipate the site being around as long as the internet is accessible to the average person for a simple design such as mine anyway. Eventually I hope to upgrade my personal software tho and do a lot more eye-catching things with it.
I'm looking forward to the next step in the evolution of the page which is off to a good start.. getting several contributors to help the site grow and add additional perspectives. The support Ive recieved already from you all regarding the episode guide is a great sign.

Hi Everyone,
Just want to thank you all for visiting my site over the past decade. It was 10 years ago today when I signed up with a GeoCities account and put a small page with a little bit of Teddy info and pictures up on the web. I had been following the TRFAQ for some time (And Creed's now defunct page) and I decided the more people that showed their interest in Teddy in an online format the better for bringing him back. I'd like to hope those of us with online tributes to the characters have contributed in some small way to Teddy's return.
The site has came a long way in a decade and I've been very blessed to meet such wonderful people as a result of starting this project.... first and foremost my lifelong hero who I now proudly call friend, Ken Forsse.
Anyway, thanks to you all also for all your interest in Teddy. Children are of course the future and I believe by aiding in keeping these characters alive we are truly helping to change the world for the better.
Hope you are all here in another ten years. Josh

As far as the voices go, there would be a multitude of changes over the TV series unless somehow another company from Ottawa, Canada became involved. Tony Pope, the original voice of Gimmick, has of course unfortunately passed away so we'd almost be guaranteed to see a new Gimmick. Will Ryan is still very active so hopefully he would come back as Grubby and could also reprise his role of Tweeg from the Adventure series (he was replaced by Canadian John Koensgen for the TV show) For me, Robert Bockstael got it *just right* as LB in the TV series, and Pope was the voice of LB too for the toys so if I could choose one actor from the TV show to go after it would be Bockstael. He also voiced Prince Arin. Whatever medium comes along to tell Teddy's story you can bet Ken Forsse will supervise it with the TLC he's always given these characters. With that, I feel comfortable with any visual medium that presents itself... although most certainly a traditionally animated straight-to-video production would be the most likely... but never underestimate what seems impossible.

I have a hard time on these threads because I have to walk a fine line between encouraging words and not revealing too much. I'm lucky enough to have been privy to a few of the things Teddy will likely be doing should an opportunity to arise to further the storyline, and maybe because of this I am dead set on it being a visual medium to tell the story.. a comic book would be my 3rd choice behind a theatrical version and a straight to video version of a Teddy movie. I unfortunately don't think a new TV series is likely at all as they just aren't making very many kids cartoon series anymore... ("they" are however making quite a lot of kids movies) Teddy is still very much alive and I believe he can make a comeback in such a medium... hopefully the U.S. economy will cooperate a bit. I'm not saying I'd be completely opposed to a comic, but I'd rather wait it out if necessary to see it in a cinematic medium... it would be quite stunning if animated right I believe.

I own two rare pieces of Teddy merchandise... in fact so rare that only one exists of each.
The first is an original drawing of Grubby that hung in the AlchemyII offices. He looks a little different with more of a dinosaur/bird like "beak" rather than his rounded facial features and his feet are more like claws... otherwise he has the same coloring and round body shapes.
The second is the large Purple fob prop from the Live action TV pilot/movie.

Funny you all should mention that as she's second to next on my list (behind Prince Arin) on the list of ones I want to do. If anyone would like to take a crack at it be my guest... as eventually I'm hoping TRO will be a wikipedia style site with me simply acting as moderator/editor.

I too think that smaller Teddy products... sheets, hand puppets, hats, clothes, backpacks, etc. pushing the property would be a great thing. BackPack's release is still out there though, and I'm kind of leery of criticizing them at this point as they took a chance on Teddy nobody else would and it has unarguably paid off to at least some degree. We've got more Teddy products currently "in print" right now than we've had since the late 1980s... considering how long of a time span that is I think we should reserve our judgment a bit.
With that being said, BackPack probably (dont know for sure) doesn't have complete licsensing rights for everything Teddy... those still belong to AlchemyII. Since BackPack is in the toy business I doubt we will see a lot of these other items from them. Maybe it's time for us to get a letter writing campaign going to some clothing & home/office type manufacturers about getting some licensed Teddy products out there. Any ideas?

Playskool probably didn't manufacture Grubby because they had decided to limit the overall production of the line. At that time, Teddy had a lot of exposure and the talkers were all still fairly new.... WoW had pretty much created new toys to the point that the production costs bankrupted the company so Playskool, from what I would assume anyway, probably decided to just do bare bones... afterall, casual fans would still be happy just having Teddy and die hards will still buy as what other choice do they have?
Yes! of course didn't manufacture Grubby either... and in my opinion shouldn't have manufactured Teddy for that matter.
I wouldn't be surprised to see a new version of Grubby popup from BackPack, who seem to be doing things the right way with the property. With Teddy getting smaller Grubby would most likely be smaller as well... not sure if he'd look all that great too small though especially if size ratio between he & Teddy weren't maintained.
As cool as a talking Grubby would be... I'd most like to see some of the other accessories come back, like the airship and the poseable figures. The hand puppets would be cool too... This is much less of a business risk for the manufacturers and would help keep Teddy's name out there with different kinds of merchandise.
But what I hope for the most is another television, theatrical or even straight to video Teddy Ruxpin storyline... continuing on the story a bit from the TV series and a bit from the Adventure series. I think this would give Teddy the most exposure.

Kayla,
Sounds great. I would like to keep the guide seamless in it's review style for the most part but like I said I may have multiple reviews of each episode so that will work. Feel free to send away. Did you get screencaps or would you like me to?
josh@teddyruxpinonline.org is where you can email it. I'll credit you on the top of the page as the reviewer, let me know what name you'd like to be credited under and if you'd like your email posted or not.
Thanks! Josh

Kayla and Lead,
Great to have you both on board and glad you are interesting in contributing to the guide. I may do double reviews of some episodes... with both myself and a 'guest' reviewer taking a crack at it... as the discussion of the Ying Zoo episodes proves, we all have different likes and dislikes and it may be kinda cool to have a couple of different people's opinion on an episodes. Other episodes I may elect just to have one review up (either myself or guest reviewer) so any & all reviews are welcome. I think with this kind of strategy it could work out to be by far the best resource on the web for the TV show.
Vincent Conroy has reviewed "Captured" one of his favorite episodes and that will be posted up this weekend along with my reviews of "King Nogburt's Castle" and "Tweeg Gets the Tweezles".
Lead, I will be happy to edit a bit for you and don't worry about your english... I had no idea by reading your posts that you weren't a native speaker.

Just FYI for everyone, three or four new episodes will be posted in the next week or so on the Ep. guide... "Captured" reviewed by Vincent Conroy, and "Tweeg Gets the Tweezles" , "King Nogburt's Castle" and "The Rainbow Mine" by myself. If anyone would like to join the review process let me know which episodes you'd like to do. If anyone would like to take the Wizardland/Ying Zoo episodes that would be especially great as that's the one block of shows I didn't really care for.
