It was certainly an action packed series... what is remarkable to me is how the stories in general (including the TV series and the Adventure Series) can seamlessly go from action-driven to character driven storylines. We got to know the characters very well and at the same time got to see them do a lot of things. I think there could easily be another 65 episodes just tying up the loose ends that Teddy & Co. found towards the end of the show... or maybe even a feature film

That'd be great.
I'm hoping to find a weekend... probably when the weather gets bad out here in the desert this winter.. when I can sit at home and watch the whole series over the course of a day or two from beginning to end. There are a lot of little hidden things like that I think... and some humorous stuff too.

Wow... a girl who watches Teddy closely enough to notice this, and also has a place in her heart for the love songs... will you marry me? LOL. It wouldn't surprise me. A cartoon twin of Ken Forsse is in a couple of episodes at King Nogburt's castle. Send us a screencap if you can

Tom,
While TJ Bearytales could theoretically be used in the same fashion as presumably he has similiar inards, Teddy is much more well known- especially to those of the age to come up with this twittler. This is rather benign and while I wouldn't do it myself I don't see anything particularly wrong with it.

I hadn't paid attention closely to the background music on that particular episode either... without knowing any history, my initial guess would be that the TV people might have tried their own music for that particular episode rather than the AlchemyII/George Wilkins produced music we heard throughout the rest of the series. When I listen to the music on that episode I will be able to tell a little better if it was Wilkins' stuff or not... he has a pretty distinct style and one that fit Teddy beautifully.

Getting together someday would be awesome. We could perhaps choose a neutral city where traveling would be as affordable as possible for everyone (somewhere central like Chicago maybe?) .... until then though or if that's not possible we should get together and chat sometime. If anyone has YAHOOIM or MSN Messenger you can get me there as well

Glad we can count you in, Vincent... and congrats on starting what is now by far the longest thread ever on this board! I like that we hopeless romantics would unite...... since Monsters and Villains have an organization I thought we should create one as well, not only to lobby for the interests of hopeless romantics (how about a Valentine's Day 2- sometime in the summer when those of us in cold climates could take someone special out and actually do something? lol) but also to give us a place to meet someone like us! haha. We'd put MAVO's get togethers to shame. How's this for a logo? ruxpin.we.bs/hro.html

MAVO was part of the storyline before the TV Show.... It was meant to be more of a gathering of Tweeg types than what it became later in the TV show.... Quellor however was added for the TV show.

So true... and when/if you do find it, often life has it's way of getting in the way... sometimes the girl of your dreams gets a dream job and moves away or decides to give it one more try with the ex, or even turns into a butterfly It's nice to know romantics still exist out there anyway... I was begining to think women had all went the way of Eleanor at this late date... hearing otherwise gives me slight hope.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who appreciates the romantic themes in TR's repeteoire. Since the age of 2 I've loved "Grubby's Romance" and it's by far my favorite storyline of both the Adventure Series and TV show.... so much that I've got a whole section of the site dedicated to it in the works. I certainly wish the girls I've dated in the past were such die-hard romantics... I've run across too many Eleanor Tweeg's I guess

Just added Eleanor Tweeg's character profile and 3 new song lyrics to the site for the 2nd update of this week... wow I'm on a roll, lol
The new songs are Take a Good Look, The Ballad of Elroy Tweeg (two of my favorites) and "I Like Being Myself"

I highly advise getting a new BackPack version, and not just simply because I worked for them when it first came out. While we are lucky to have people who diligently repair the WoW version, eventually parts are going to run out and repair will become either nonexistant or very expensive. Because the originals use audio tapes, the likelihood of too many copies being around for another generation is also small... audiotapes and their players are unfortunate victims of time... after awhile, the things just won't work anymore. So reason #1 to get a BackPack TR = longevity. They are going to hold up as long or probably longer than the WoW versions because of the new technology they use and the Mp3 cartridges are much sturdier than the tapes. and the newest WoW versions are now 20 years old, the oldest almost 24. Reason #2- improved artwork and storybooks. While I will always love the old hardback WoW books, the artwork in the new BackPack versions, done by Ken Forsse and Maggie Parr are excellent and creative a cohesive feel to those first few books especially. Additionally, there is new voice recordings by Phil Baron and the storyline of those first few books has been remastered as well. Reason #3- You are supporting Teddy in present day. The companies involved are very likely to spend most of the money you give them on new products. We are seeing this already with the new plush Teddy's and additional storylines coming out in '09... and the success of the BackPack version also, I'd guess, helped convince the DVD people to release those. Reason #4- The new BackPack Teddy is safer and easier to use than the original... for kids especially this is a great thing. For those of us who won't be trying to eat the batteries or shove our hands in between tape player decks, the ease of use also translates into less breakable and wear-out-able parts (gosh I love to make up new words so you won't be fishing for a new tape player cover a couple years from now when yours finally wears out. I could go on and on..... keep in mind I am not discouraging at all picking up a WoW bear. Repair costs on them are reasonable and they do hold sentimental value.. and the sheer size of them just makes them seem that much more 'alive'. But if you are choosing between the two, I would most definately go with a BackPack version, as they are now $49.99 - which is less than you will pay after it's all said and done to get a WoW bear repaired. I wish for the 25th anniversary someone (BackPack, hint hint) would put out a limited collector's edition line of the original WoW style, including having it the original size and using audiotapes.... basically it would be new units using the WoW blueprint. Also release 7-10 of the original software titles for this limited edition. They could charge out the nose for them and it would give us old school fans one last chance at a new Teddy exactly how we remember him from the old days. Just a thought.

My vote is for animation too.... perhaps for slightly different reasons than others. In order to do a CGI production a major network or studio would have to sign on. They would in turn want to butcher the storyline into something resembling the majority of current releases- i.e. heavy on graphical intensity, low on character development and coherent story. A smaller animation house would likely leave the story to the man who should be in charge of it... Mr. Forsse. Now, I admit I have a rather cynical view of the process and I am not saying this would happen for sure but I think the chances are much higher.
If done right, a CGI Teddy would look breathtaking. It would be intricate work tho, for sure.

I have known about this possibility for awhile... glad it finally made it to the web so It can be officially talked about.
I'm very confident we will see a new Teddy feature in the near future..... I think the time is ripe for the continuation of the story. The DVD releases were quite successful especially considering they didn't have a lot of marketing, so that is a good sign.

Very spot-on from Kayla in the last post.
I think it's a chicken-egg thing when it comes to our big happy family here... while there are certainly *exceptions* to this rule, (although thankfully nobody on here) in general Teddy draws the kind of fans who would be kind and generous to each other... for those of us who were lucky enough to be influenced by him as impressionable children, he may have even had something to do with fostering those kind of character traits in us. For those of us who became fans later, the characters and storyline obviously drew them in because they share some of the common values those characters promote.
This board has been such a joy lately with all of the new fans and all of us who have been around awhile checking in so often. In what is often an unfortunate dreary life, It's a joy everyday to log on here and converse with you all. I'm so glad we share this common interest.
