Just more evidence that in addition to new Teddy products, which are of course the first option and awesome... somebody could make a mint re-producing WoW compatible software... especially as those tapes begin to age.
I'm a die hard Grubby's Romance fan myself, so if you are in the market for a single story I would have to recommend that title. Kayla is right, though- if you want to get the biggest bang for your buck (especially when considering shipping charges) look for a tape & book lot, there is usually at least one or two everytime I check Ebay.
Welcome to the forums, thanks for joining! Josh

Yes, Les' voice was just right for villains. He also played Drudge and a couple of the other MAVO counterparts in the series. The voice is hauntingly similar to some he did in "You Can't Do That On Television", too. Interesting also to note that he and Abby Hagyard, (who played Eleanor) are very good off-screen friends and have worked together several times as well.

This year hasn't been one worth writing home about, that's for 'dang sure.
Thanks for posting the link. I was coming here belatedly this evening to do just that, glad to see we have gathered in our community to say goodbye to the voice of Quellor. I also remember him fondly from the TV series "You Can't Do That On Television"
About 9 years ago an internet hoax was started about his death, to the point mine and other websites were putting out tributes to him. I am saddened to be doing it for real this time.

WoW developed the adventure series in several other languages, I'm currently the high bidder on a Grubby's Romance Japanese Version I hope that I win, thanks to a heads up from Kayla This is the version she is discussing. I can't wait to hear Teddy speaking Japanese Although currently there is no other BP version than English, by the looks of their website China and Japan are next. www.backpacktoys.com/links.html

Interesting thoughts, Kayla. It certainly would have made things a bit more adventurous, Teddy finding his father to be a brainwashed zombie fighting for MAVO. Although for the targeted demographic it may have been a little too much.
I always wondered why the black box made "Tweeg the Vegetable" with basically no ability to care for himself, while Burl was able to maintain quite an extensive existance and maintained all his faculties, just had no clue as to where he had come from. There are a lot of questions about the black box that I think could be answered in a future series that would be quite fun to watch.

There is a movement of fans who were around my age (25 currently) when the series was on who grew up to have their outlook on life jaded a bit. I forgive the author of this article for that as at least if he is recognizing villains he recognizes a good one. Quellor was actually more of the TV series people's idea rather than AlchemyII, but I still think the formula made things a bit more interesting for the TV series. With that being said, I don't think there is as much room for Quellor if the series continues as Teddy will have more things to do not completely related to the crystals. MAVO will always want to have them, though.

Unfortunately it seems these days anything related to children's entertainment has to be either created by a celebrity (Jerry Seinfeld, Kelsey Grammer, Jamie Lee Curtis are all examples of stars who are getting in on the game and skipping ahead of the line) or be completely moronic with characters who act as if they are on speed. (see Spongebob Squarepants, Madagascar, etc.) With that being said, I have faith in the people of the world to turn this around and embrace real stories again. We just need someone to take that big of a chance on Teddy... if you are out there with the resources and you're reading this, he's more than worth it!

Vince & Kayla,
Thank you for your continuing efforts to help me finish the guide and improve the site. Vincent- as far as your old site goes I'd like to incorporate it all. You spoke of editing some things and of course there will be overlapping things like character profiles and such but otherwise everything you had on there was great and I'd certainly welcome any and all input you have.
Kayla- I have been busy myself so I certainly can understand your time constraints. Anytime you are ready to contirbute more I am ready. I still need to get screencaps for the episodes you have already reviewed and I have been procrastinating too long on that.
Book reviews will also be awesome.
I am going to be skipping further a bit in my next few Episode reviews (working on them today) as I gave the 2nd two-disc set to a friend in Salt Lake City for his daughter while I was visiting as she had just got turned on to Teddy... and my first disc has been played extensively and won't work in my laptop anymore so I'm limited to episodes from the "Return to Rillonia" series at the moment. Thank god MillCreek released the entire series! Need to buy that soon...

Anybody purchase the complete series DVD yet? I am wondering about any possible glitches such as one of the original DVD releases which wouldn't let you navigate from the menu, only "Play All".

I am going to approach this a bit differently and hope that through time we get some more excitement about the possibility. I am a frequent traveler to Las Vegas anyhow so I will simply set aside a day to go and hope that some fans join me. Vincent, it would be wonderful to shake your hand as well and I look forward to the opportunity.
I am hopeful we can get some sort of fan gathering going for the 25th anniversary, which would be in the late summer/early fall of 2010. The publicity would be great, as would the chance for everyone to gather in one spot.
I'm going to bump this thread occasionally to keep the idea out there.

IMHO, The World of Grundo is the perfect idea of a community- at least where the good guys live, anyway. Technology is around in more mystical and magical forms, and really serves the individual personality and the community interest, something I can't say is always true of technology here on our planet. I'm not so sure I want Gimmick to operate so predictably, as would be the case if he had a PC. I am quite fond of his abstract techniques and the moments that transpire because of them.

Here's a bold idea.... I'd like us to try to get together..... I will throw out a city that seems pretty 'central' as a possible place... Las Vegas, Nevada. Cheap airfare there, cheap hotels, lots of fun times available when we're not all sitting around having coffee. Sometime in 2010, which will be Teddy's 25th anniversary and leaves plenty of time for us to change minor wrinkles in any plans we may make. Here's another thought.... Mr. Forsse doesn't live that far from Las Vegas... No promises yet there, just a thought. Here's another thought.... we could document the event electronically and perhaps get some publicity for Teddy. Let me know what you all think..... If I'm crazy, it's OK to tell me that too...
