Hi, would you please post more pictures of other versions of the boards so we can see the differences? Thanks.

After a Google search, I've found a few articles about the new Speak And Spell. There isn't a lot of coverage, though. Most videos are older and the articles all report a similar experience to the toys we remember, with a clearer voice and LCD screen added. That's all I've found so far. I'll let you know if I find anything else. I think you've found out pretty much all there is to find out, my best friend bought the new Speak & Spell recently and he's coming to my house in a few days, I hope he brings it with him because I want to have a play with it. I never owned a Speak & Spell growing up, but I knew plenty of people who did, it's also worth noting that I found out about Speak & Spell in maybe 1989 or 1990 when I was 5 or 6, I didn't learn about Teddy Ruxpin until 1992 when I was 8.

Hi everyone, I wanted to run something past you all. We all know how iconic and popular Teddy Ruxpin was in the 1980s and early 90s and how well known it was and still continues to be. There's been a lot of coverage of new versions of Teddy Ruxpin when they have been released, particularly in 2016/2017 when WCT released the latest version of Teddy Ruxpin. There was so much speculation and talk about it, there was also a good deal of tension and friction surrounding this new Teddy Ruxpin, mainly because of the design changes, and things didn't exactly improve.
Many of you will also know how iconic and popular Speak & Spell was from the late 70s all the way through to the 90s, helped in some way by the release of ET. Some may argue that Speak & Spell was more popular than Teddy Ruxpin, of course it was around for a good deal longer than Teddy. But, how many of you know that Basic Fun released a new version of Speak & Spell last year. I only found out purely by chance at Christmas time when searching for videos on Speak & Spell, there are i think only 2 or 3 videos about the new Speak & Spell on YouTube at the moment. I did come across an article about it which I think was published by Engaget or one of those other technical publications that are out there. Maybe I just don't look in the right places, but I had no idea of this product release and there didn't seem to be the same amount of publicity that surrounded the release of Teddy Ruxpin. What do the rest of you think? Can any of you say anything that disputes what I've said? I like to hear some input on this issue.
Thanks everyone.

To be honest, I think Close Your Eyes is a better title for that song. Funny story, I had to go to the dentist once for a filling and I'd taken Teddy with me. Teddy Ruxpin Lullabies was playing while I was in the dentist chair, Go To Sleep was playing as the dentist gave me an injection, as Teddy sang Close Your Eyes, the dentist sang along too, and she'd never even heard of Teddy Ruxpin until I showed her the one I had with me.

Hi everyone. Has there been anymore developments with this remaster? I saw the posts saying it's on Amazon Prime. Even though I do use Amazon, I don't use it enough to warrant getting Prime. Has it been released outside of prime yet? Is there anyone here who doesn't live in the US and who uses their local Prime service who can tell us whether it's available outside of the US or not? I'm somewhat surprised it's on Amazon Prime and not NetFlix. I mean, NetFlix is more popular than Prime.

It is sad that this Teddy Ruxpin has ended production, I know very well that the WCT Teddy Ruxpin was not well liked by the community at large and I do understand why, though I don't have some of the same problems with it that others did. In particular, I have little issue with the eyes, but many other people hated them seriously. What I really didn't like was the edits to the stories, I see no valid reasons for altering the stories, they didn't need to be changed, they should have been left as they were. I really like the way the pictures from the story books show up on your phone/tablet computer's screen with synchronized text showing up too. However, the app could have done so much more. Why weren't there educational games available in the app? Why weren't there other features to help a child develop its creativity and imagination and other life skills? I also wish of course that more stories had been released for it. By the way, the Teddy Ruxpin app is still available from the Apple App store at least.

I'm not sure, but it could be that one of them is a three servo Teddy and the other a two servo Teddy. I don't know if the metal tape deck Teddy was ever made in two servo form, though. As far as I know, there are no Teddy Ruxpin toys out there with metal backed cassette players and only 2 servo motors.

I've been told about this too, someone on YouTube was telling me this morning. It's very sad really, but the fact remains that WCT just didn't put in the effort they should have. I'm being extremely optimistic here, but I wonder if a toy company such as Basic Fun may develop a version of Teddy Ruxpin, we can only wait and see. I'm wondering if Alchemy Communications Group have withdrawn the licence. I say this because they still are making toy lines they were making before Teddy Ruxpin was released.

I think the Hug 'N Sing Teddy and Grubby have 3 built in songs, I understand they're short clips or samples of the songs. I've heard a short sample of Grubby playing It's Your Birthday from Teddy Ruxpin's Birthday, but that's all I've heard so far.

There's been a lot of talk about this on the Facebook forum page and there are a few people who are up in arms about it, saying that the WCT staff are toxic and should be fired and things like that. I'm looking forward to these toys, I think this Teddy Ruxpin looks kind of cute, I like the pattern on the shirt he's wearing. I'm hoping the batteries in these plush squeeze toys, if that's what they are, can be replaced by the user, many music plush toys from the 80s and 90s had non replaceable batteries. I'm disappointed by the fact that WCT doesn't plan to release a Grubby companion toy that links to the current Teddy Ruxpin, I hope they do this at some time because I'd really love to see an interactive singing Teddy and Grubby pair. Since this Teddy Ruxpin is dressed in pyjamas, I wouldn't be surprised if it sings lullabies.

I made a video about that in 2011, it's still on my YouTube channel, just search for Lachlant1984 and look search for Yes Teddy Ruxpin, I can't remember the exact title of the video. I believe I briefly went over how you connect the system up. Since then I think something has gone wrong with the talk box, last time I connected Teddy up, his mouth moved, but the audio was very soft, almost inaudible. I don't know why. Teddy Ruxpin still plays tapes just fine.

Yes I've noticed that too, I expect it was a mistake during editing. And you're right, Grubby's voice sounds OK, but Teddy's voice is lower in pitch for a few seconds, it's a bit strange.

There is a version fo this new Teddy Ruxpin that comes with 3 books, you can only get it from QVC and it's a limited edition product. I'm not seriously bothered by the fact there are no physical books for the new Teddy Ruxpin for the most part, I don't see that as being a problem. Remember, you don't always need Teddy Ruxpin to be connected to a smartphone or tablet just to play the stories.
