While not a continuation of where the series left off, I think it would be neat to explore alternate "what if" universes.
I've actually been toying around with a mirror-verse take on the series. Basically, it's an alternate universe of Grundo, where the villains are heroes and the heroes are villains.

super cool idea your a genius that would be cool to see tweeg going on the adventure with the bounder and the dark overlord is teddy himself and a evil wizard is the mr gimmick and grubby a psycho enforcer with an evil army of brute grunges all on vitamin z, while the gutanges were annihilated and the crystals allscattered it is up to tweeg to save grundo now aqnd quellor is the mr gimmick to him

Actually, I'm still unsure whether or not Tweeg should be a hero or not.
I mean sure he stole things, committed fraud, and such, but he never really struck me as a "villain" in the sense that Quellor and the rest of MAVO were. It's always been my opinion that the only reason he tries so hard to being "evil" is to make his mother proud. Were it not for her, I doubt he'd want to be evil.
The only ideas I can come up with right now, is that he's really bad at being good or he's very competent at being bad.

we should come up with a new hero all together a new being maybe that comes exploring not know of the evil deeds done there a new hero that is strong yet kind and very adventourus as well in this alternate univers that teddy is evil and annihilatyed mavo and the gutanges with etreme prejudice this reverse world needs a hero that can manipulate the powers at hand and return the crystals to their true glory

I am admittedly a card carrying Teddy traditionalist, and do not want to see any major changes to the storyline or such. While these other takes on the characters and the World of Grundo are interesting to me, I would only like to see any changes occur if it was something in addition to the continuation of the story in the mold it currently occupies. There have been other "children's" entertainment properties that took a second look as more grown up fare, and that's OK.. but if it had to be one way or the other, and I'm not trying to offend anyone, but I'd have to choose Teddy to continue on as-is. I once wrote about fifty basic plotlines to what would be a second season of the Teddy Ruxpin cartoon..... I agree Tweeg could never be a good guy, that's the basis of his character... while he will never be Quellor or evil at his core, his deep-rooted greed, paranoia, selfishness and of course the ever expanding need to please mommy would always get in the way of any ability for goodness to grow inside his soul.

It makes one wonder how Tweeg might have turned out if his father hadn't abandoned him.

I have to agree with Josh. Teddy should maintain his current image, but I also think it is still possible to do that while continuing the story. I don't think Teddy needs a darker look, or to have things made more complex than they seem to be in the current form.
I would love to see Teddy search out the other Illiop colonies...either in Ying or some new land. I think Teddy still has a lot he can do and explore...but the majority of the mystery of the Crystals is pretty much explained in the series, so it would be more character-based (as Teddy's story usually is at it's best) and making new friends and uncovering new mysteries.
Just my opinion.

Oh, I agree as well.
These alternate realities are just something I've been playing around with in fanfic. I definitely wouldn't want to see the official canon get any darker than what was in the original series.

Hey, my peeps. I haven't been online or a while, but I'm still kicking. I sincerely despise being the voice to speak out against creating new stuff - especially after the noise I made about it. I cannot help feeling spent and lost right now because I don't really know where my work can fit and make it's mark. I tried over the years to come up with a new twist and new stories and characters for TR but I have found it very hard to make them a must for anything new that Ken would want to do. I flat-out refuse to put down the traditionalists here and they cannot be wrong in focusing in the original state of Teddy Ruxpin and his world. In saying that, am I wrong for wanting to redesign things and write new media that could be used? Not to sound offish about this, but how can any of us build so much only to have the purpose for it removed or feeling like we are gate-crashing a really good party? I know that some time ago I was the first to offer encouragement in writing something new but now I think I'm the one needing the most encouragement, right now.I wrote a document or two, I redesigned things, created characters and locations and plots... so now what? My compass is now spinning out of control in regards to TR despite everyone's support. As far as I know, LegRux has been on hiatus for some time now and I'm focusing on other projects until some minor miracle brings me back to making a LegRux reborn. Guidance is definately needed. Where now? Little help here?

You know I'm always willing to help on the creative front. My help kick-start my own little lull in creativity. Fire your ideas at us (or just me) and we can offer help, ideas, direction, a new compass...
Living up to Mr. Forsse's ideals is a tough act. Keep at it though. It's the things that are hardest to achieve that are the most worth getting. Cliché, I know.

I'll also help if I can.
Though, I personally don't believe there's anything wrong with wanting to put your own personal touch on the series. After all, for all the episodes and books we had, we really don't know that much about Teddy's world. For instance, what events led up to the Gutangs invading the HFC? What were the crystals original purpose? How did the Gutangs come to possess aircraft technology? What is Octagonia like? Why does Grunge gumbo have such a strange effect on illipers?
There are dozens of questions that have yet to be answered. There's nothing wrong with wanting to answer them. Isn't that what fanfiction is all about?

If everyone wants LegRux to return, I'll need a hand to get it back on the rails. Also I'm wanting to change the name of it to The Heroes of Grundo: Legends of Teddy Ruxpin - if that works. Also, I want to start from scratch and try to update the visuals.
At the moment, I have a lot of internet time until Monday when I go home from my friend's house.

Josh said this: I agree Tweeg could never be a good guy, that's the basis of his character... while he will never be Quellor or evil at his core, his deep-rooted greed, paranoia, selfishness and of course the ever expanding need to please mommy would always get in the way of any ability for goodness to grow inside his soul. As time wears on, I have no choice but to agree. At best, he can be only a fringe hero or even an anti-hero. Tweeg is too craven, corrupt and clumsy a character to warrant a halo. Too much taint and most know what I mean... 'outside forces' should explain.
