I honestly don't think this will be all that bad. I don't like his eyes or how he looks so "chibi" now, but I really think that Wicked Cool Toys have their heart in the right place. It seems like they really have put forth an effort, unlike the Yes Teddy, and maybe the Playskool Teddy.

I also think that there was an earlier prototype then this teddy. In fact we've already seen it. This prototype actually looks worse to me then what was shown. The teddy in the logo looks earlier because it has the old teddy ruxpin patch instead of the new one. To me, as someone closer to the target generation of this, it does look cuter than the original. Not by much, but a little bit. As for the eyes, I can see the appeal of trying to offer something unique - a talking bear isn't exactly unique anymore. Realistic though? Nah. The original had more realistic eyes, and that's part of what makes him so unsettling to some. Unique? Almost every interactive toy now has the same LCD eyes and app. That is everywhere today, and not unique at all! It would have been unique if they released a toy with proper animatronics. Because that does not exist today. I would appreciate knowing just what interactive toy you're talking about has LCD eyes that behave like the ones on this new Teddy. The app is of course not as unique of a feature, as many interactive toys and other devices are going in that direction. Proper animatronics are both expensive to engineer/produce and hard to use as a selling point. I really wouldn't expect that on such a toy.

All versions of Furby from 2012 onwards have LCD eyes, those Xeno things have LCD eyes, and that new Cabbage Patch Baby has LCD eyes. There's definitely way more, but those are all the ones I can list off the top of my head.

No it is not. The realism is a selling point. Remember "A Friend For Life Comes To Life"? New Teddy certainly does not feel as if he truly "comes to life", and the eyes are really the reason for this. I suppose you were not around in the 1980s and 1990s (you did say you are "closer to the target generation").. Because most similar toys then had proper animatronics. Even a lot of 2000s toys had proper animatronics. The LCD eyes are a recent trend in plush toys, usually only used in hard-shelled robot toys before the 2010s.

Why won't these morons listen to anybody? They're so stubborn, convinced they've made "The perfect Teddy" even though they have all the hate.

Just a quick thought... What if we asked everybody who gave negative feedback to send us their e-mails and we can compile every bit of negative feedback together, and then finally send it to Wicked Cool Toys? If they deny it, we can expose them for it.

It seems like Wicked Cool Toys can't take any criticism. They've convinced themselves that they made the perfect Teddy.

Hi Just to follow up on the thoughts on the new Teddy Ruxpin (2017). There seems to be a problem with the mouth movements on all the clips that I have seen. The mouth appears to be "Binary" by which I mean it either seems open or closed. In contrast to the original Teddy Ruxpins which have progressive movements, so the opening and closing of the mouth varies with the speech. I am not sure if this is a technical issue which is still to be overcome or whether this is the final production model that will have these issues. Although initially, it does not appear to be a problem, after watching it for a little while it looks very, very unnatural movements. I also understand that Teddy Ruxpin will be sold with one or two stories. Then further stories will be available to download directly from Wicked cools servers at a cost as yet to be released to the public. This may enable the Teddy Ruxpins to be sold less expensively and the retailer will only make a profit on the initial sale. All subsequent sales will be from Wicked Cool Toys directly. Would appreciate if there is anyone can provide any further clarification on these points Regards Kevin www.teddyruxpinhospital.com
