So their eyes don't look black unless batteries were taken out while the eyes were open.

I wish I could send Wicked Cool Toys my feedback... I find the remake really weird! You can. All of us who dislike the new Teddy have already done it. There is a contact page on their website. Unfortunately, because they are getting such bad feedback, they are now using "copy and paste" responses in their replies. But even if they do that, I think there is a very small possibility they might consider the reason they are getting so much bad feedback....

No, it's cringe. Not fit for Teddy.

I hated the LCD eyes on Furby, but it is more fitting, because virtual pets started out digitally, on a screen.
Teddy Ruxpin with LCD screen eyes, especially with stupid symbols, is not fitting at all...

And, most people in FaceBook comments are just stupid humans afraid of animatronics. Not anything to do with the new Teddy.

The YES blue shorts are now back too??? LOL! But on a more serious note, many have made their views known to WCT, which invited feedback. Despite the computer generated standard responses now, I did get a real reply on my first message as it was right after the Toy Fair video was out. So I think they are considering these comments. The immediately preceding article posted here I find interesting as it reflects a point I forwarded in my second message to WCT. There is a nostalgia factor involved in marketing here. Parents are the ones who will decide whether to pluck down their dollars for this new Teddy, and it is today's parents who were the first generation of Teddy Ruxpin fans. So hearkening back to the Teddy as closely as they remember him might not be such a bad idea. But that's my view. But whatever your views might be, keep in mind that we have so far seen at least 3 variations on their Teddy Ruxpin prototypes. As such, it seems a little premature to assume that any one of them will be the final appearance, or than anything is cast in stone (except perhaps the LCD eyes...that seems to appear in all we've seen.) I'll apply the wait-and-see rule. I have to honestly say that buying one of these myself is questionable: no fun or adventure involved if there is no need for a repair. HA! Nonetheless, I hope that the final product they put out is something of good quality that brings Teddy Ruxpin back to the forefront so today's kids can share in the legend and the stories. I think that in concentration on anumatronics, we lose sight of the fact that those tapes and stories were so great for kids, combining the fun of Teddy's adventures with Grubby and friends with a lot of information that was educational for the kids. If that is brought back, that in itself would make the WCT Teddy a successful endeavor.

I like how they're trying to do something different to stand out from the other previous 4 generations, but they are doing it in all the wrong ways.

The YES blue shorts are now back too??? In the working prototype, the blue pants appear to be jeans. How ugly. I do like the vest though.

That's true, but they still could have done things to make him more close to the original. They could have made the snout more like the original or playschool Teddy. The new snout makes him look like a baby, not like a 16 - 17 year old. The button down vest looks alright, and I don't mind the jeans. The blue eyes are ok, but they should make the pupils way smaller and tone down the blue, it's so vibrant it looks unnatural. The LCD eyes could work if they are used correctly. For example, having snowflakes in his eyes if he's singing "Snowflakes are falling" or if he's singing lullabies, having his eyes half closed towards the end as if he's getting sleepy. I also think they should add in plastic eyelids like in the furby connect, so teddy's eyes don't go black when you're done using him.
