The more I think about TR, the more I can see them as close to an official adventuring party from the likes of the pages from Dungeons and Dragons. I mean, how could you not see Teddy Ruxpin's abilties as being like the fictional legend of Sinbad in a way. Although, Teddy's altruism would stop him robbing people, his thirst for adventure would have him delving into the depths of ancient temples and lost tombs to find relics to help save and protect the people of Grundo.
Grubby, defensive of his adopted brother, seeks to protect Teddy and set up preparations for any outcome. As long as he breathes, no one on his watch will fall. Quiet and observant, Grubby's thousand eyes pick up any tiny detail, making him the most ideal guardian. Grubby's natural insectoid abilities complement his solid defences, boasting proportional strength and impressive wall climbing abilities.
Gimmick is science first and fear last. His gadgets and ability to analyse a situation can make him just as much a tactician as a scientist. Gimmick develops father-figure attributes and unwilling to let anyone leave his side without proper equipment and a fuelled airship. Gimmick always seems to have a trick up his sleeve just when all seems lost.
Arin's a knight-on-a-mission who is confident in his abilities and guided by the calling in his heart. Born in the womb of royalty, Arin has natural political punch but lacks knowledge of the world aside from in books. His intelligence has thrived as he becomes a fast learner. Also, Arin seems protected by higher powers and finds a certain defining truth in his exploits.
Arusia has been granted magical powers within her blood and calling on the mystic constelations above Grundo, her power is one to be feared and awed. Her clear hatred for the Gutang abominations is marked well. Arusia has all her brother's daring and is not afraid to let her royal sensabilities drop to save the lives of innocent people.
This view of them, I cannot banish. As the lands of Grundo darken, these few -among others- will be the light that brings people hope. In 2009, I hope Teddy Ruxpin and his crew can be seen this way for now, the time of adventurers is over and the new age has begun...
