Thank you for your inquiry and for taking the time to share your feedback with us. While we can’t share more information on Teddy Ruxpin at this time, please note that we are working side by side with the original creators and team of Teddy Ruxpin. We are balancing a passion and desire to bring Teddy Ruxpin to a new generation of kids with a deep appreciation to those who have embraced Teddy Ruxpin for so many decades. With that being said, we will be happy to pass along your feedback to our team for their consideration. We thank you for your patience and understanding and for taking the time to reach out to us with your feedback. Best, Roxanne My friend sent me this... and it really annoys me... Your friend works for Wicked Cool Toys?

DollyPrince- I take it their friend got that in reply to a comment or question. It's the modern day equivalent of a form letter. I'm sure someone copied and pasted a bunch of them yesterday.

I just checked my email.
I got the exact same reply. How very original. Copy and paste indeed.
Well, at least they are forwarding to their team.. Maybe.
Edit: I have re-read the message. They did add one extra bit.
"We will be happy to pass along your feedback regarding Teddy Ruxpin's eye stylisation to our team"
Seeing as they mentioned a specific part of my message, they did actually read it. I suppose there is some hope.

The blue eyes don't really bother me to be honest, I think it was either DollyPrince or KaylaTheHedgehog who said it wouldn't take much to change the colour of Teddy's eyes, that's true, but to be honest I'm not bothered. If you want to E-mail WCT, that's fine, but please, do go easy on them and don't harass them, will you, they're just trying to do their jobs and they might find it troubling or offputting if everyone suddenly starts E-mailing them about Teddy Ruxpin's design and feature set, I don't think they're going to go back to the drawing board as Thomas suggested, in fact if they did, that would potentially cause problems. I want the knew Teddy Ruxpin when it comes out, I want one badly, I WANT one, because it's Teddy Ruxpin. Sometimes change can be hard to accept, but sometimes there's not really an alternative. Also, I understand that the Cabbage Patch Kids Baby So Real doll does have plastic lids over the eyes that can make the eyes blink and close, I also understand that when you turn the doll off the eyes will close, if this is true, then even if Teddy Ruxpin still has LCD eyes by the time the official gold release comes out, the likelihood of it too having mechanical eyelids is potentially very high. Remember, the most important thing to remember at this time is that it's in the prototypical stage now, the hardware is still being designed and the software is still being coded, so let's try not to get so angry with each other and worked up about it, hopefully we can all get the new Teddy Ruxpin when it comes out and enjoy it for what it is. I hope there's no more fighting on this forum now, one of the things I've always liked about this forum is that I see it as a safe haven from all the cyber bullying and Internet drama that happens, let's try to keep it that way, please.

hopefully we can all get the new Teddy Ruxpin when it comes out and enjoy it for what it is. Honestly, I am kind of forgetting about it now. Let them do what they want. Just like when Furby was re-released in 2012, those who like them will buy them, and those (like myself) who don't, will avoid them. I personally will not get the new Teddy Ruxpin, because I simply don't like it. I am a collector of mostly vintage toys, anyways. I don't have money to spend on things I don't like, regardless of whether it shares the name of one of my favourite old toys or not. But if others do like it, that's fine. To each to their own. But we don't all have to buy it.

To me, it was less about the brand itself, than it was about saving good, quality animatronics from going extinct. I thought this was a great opportunity to bring that kind of thing back.
But I suppose everything goes extinct in time. As for the toy and entertainment industries, it seems we are in the generation of screens and holograms, not robotics. At least for now.
That doesn't mean anyone has to change their preferences or what they choose to collect, so in a way you are right, it is not really that big of a problem.
It isn't like the vintage ones will vanish.

Those replies do look like a cut and paste, but what I got back on my message was quite different, acknowledging the opinion I gave on LCD eyes and indicating that the issue of the eyes was still under consideration. Maybe it was that my message was early and they are now getting a whole lot more reaction. But given that the issue of the LCD eyes was the subject of a request for input in the Toy Fair interview videos, I am willing suspend cynicism. While the acknowledgements may be a form message, that does not necessarily mean that the input is not being reviewed. WCT is not Mattel. Its a small company and you have to believe that it has a big stake here in making Teddy a success. And what we see is a prototype. As someone observed above, the WoW prototypes all differed from the final product. One of the Grubby prototype had toes!!!

Problem is, Ken isn't around anymore, it's his family approving all this. And I agree, it's like they used WOW's baby Teddy Ruxpin (nothing wrong with that version, but clearly not the original Teddy) to base his look. Those LCD eyes- NOT a fan of those. The clothing, it's like he doesn't even look like Teddy or BackPack Teddy who I have to give credit to, they did an outstanding job on it. This one, it's like okay, you're clearly not aiming at adults like BackPack did, but still, have something a bit nostalgic will ya? I'm not surprised they're using digital storage with smart device connectivity, I said before that was the standard, so that's what I expected- despite having a debate on another thread what the standard really is (this now proves it). That's fine and all, but I really don't like how you have to unlock some of them using a smart device. I understand they're wanting kids who use smartphones and tablets, not the parents, so they're aiming him at current 3 year olds who likely never saw a CD before, and are using their parents tablets and smartphones already. Still though, it's probably (and this is being generous) a C- roughly 70%.

If only... This would be at least a LITTLE better. Still horrible, but a little better.

If only... This would be at least a LITTLE better. Still horrible, but a little better. It is surprising how such little changes can do such a big difference. He looks better. Those LCD eyes are still ugly though. I cannot really tell by the picture if you photoshopped this or not, but a moving plastic piece for the eyelids would improve the Teddy more.
