This obvious shameless ripoff of Teddy Ruxpin, " My Friend Teddy" admits they're ripping off Teddy Ruxpin in a Facebook post. and should I also mention the design of the bear looks very similar aswell. I honestly think legal action should be taken into this. We all know we want the real deal back and not this shameless ripoff of him.

It's quite obvious just by even looking at the character design. The frizzy hair, white muzzle, cheeks, eye design and all. And of course he moves his mouth while he talks and tells stories Attachments:

I just don't see the resemblance. His proportions are different. Bigger head, and a smaller and chubbier belly.
He looks more like a modern Care Bear than Teddy. Still bad form for them to up and admit that they ripped off our Teddy.

You beat me to it! I was gonna say that it looks more like a Care Bear than Teddy Ruxpin. Lol.

Never mind Mr. Forsse's estate going after them for any resemblance to Teddy, I'm surprised that American Greetings hasn't gone after them for how closely they resemble the most recent Care Bear remodel. The thing's a dead ringer for Tenderheart Bear, albeit with lighter colored fur. See for yourself.

The resemblance is uncanny. How is this company getting away with it?

Only thing I can think of is "refuge in audacity."

Hmmm I think I recall seeing a knock off of Teddy Ruxpin back in the day that looked a lot like this guy. Someone help me out here, but doesn't he look like "Gabby Bear" or something? Although, I like the concept of where they are going with this. I think a remake of Teddy Ruxpin is way overdue, but if it's done, do it right! Buy the rights, and implement the software interactivity and also the wardrobe! Teddy Ruxpin had outfits for his stories and that was part of the fun!

Well yeah, that goes without saying! Lol. I mean, c'mon if you want to make a new Teddy Ruxpin that badly, just buy the rights and do it properly with the outfits, the overall character/toy design/look, and the awesome stories to go with it.

Gabby Bear was different. My grandmother had one as well as a Teddy Ruxpin for all of us grandchildren to enjoy. Gabby Bear wore blue jeans and had a red and white striped shirt kind of like a Venetian Gondolier. The on off volume knob was a dial that looked like a pin or button on his shirt with a hologram sticker on it. The face was terrible. It did not look like a bear. It looked more like a bulldog. Here is an image www.lynneslovables.com/Misc%20Items/Gabby%20Bear.jpgSomeone thought it would be cute to post a You Tube of Gabby Bear playing an Andrew Dice Clay tape....Wow! That brought back memories and laughs. Way too raunchy to post here though.
