Wow. A whole website about the Yes! Teddy Ruxpin. I just took a look through it, and I have to say that the covers are alright, but I prefer the covers to the original WoW Teddy books.

Oh, wow, what a great resource! Great find! ;D
Now, I'm going to go against the grain a bit here, and say that whilst I don't prefer it to Teddy's signature outfit, I *do* quite like his Yes! getup, because it's a bit different and it's interesting to see him in another outfit - much as it was interesting to see the various different outfits he wore in the Adventure Series (i.e., the ones that you could buy for Teddy I) and the TV series.
I've always wanted to see more stuff about the Yes! incarnation, but there doesn't seem to be much out there about it. So, thanks again for posting this! ;D

I grew up with yes entertainment Teddy Ruxpin and that was the first time I've get heard of teddy ruxpin and the first I owned. If it werent for yes entertainment teddy I would never have heard or had any great memories with Teddy Ruxpin.

It's certainly very interesting to see - I mean, it showcases something I'm sure a lot of us know, which is how Teddy III was the one that introduced the icons representing individual stories, that are present on the tapes and book covers. This feature was carried over to Teddy IV, too. I also noticed that the Yes! version changed the subtitle of All About Bears. I wonder why? Also, teddysonicfan98, what tapes did you have/grow up with, out of curiousity? I had a Teddy II (briefly had a Teddy I a few years before that, but he had to be returned), and had The Airship (as we all do!), Lullabies II, and Wooly and the Giant Snowzos. It seems that Teddy III's tape selection was limited in a similar fashion to Teddy II's, which is what makes me curious.

Later when I was 7 I got a Worlds of Wonder Teddy Ruxpin & Grubby from Dr.Eeyore's Hospital. And my first tapes for them I got were The Airship,All About Bears,The Wooly What's-It,Grunge Music, and Teddy Ruxpin Summertime,oh yeah and Lullabies 1 and 2. . I now almost have every story made for playskool And worlds of wonder now. But I'm not even close with yes entertainment since his book an tapes are so rare. Also the yes book and tapes I grew up with I still have the books but no longer the tapes for Uncle Grubby,The Do-Along Songbook,The Wooly What's-It.But I still have All Ablut Bears and the airship though

From what I've heard from others, is that it was a marketing thing. They wanted to see if kids would respond better if Teddy wore something else, rather than his trademark outfit. You'll have to ask Josh about that though, because I'm not sure if my information is accurate.

My understanding of it is similar to MB's. The guy who ran Yes! Entertainment originally had a hand in Worlds of Wonder, if I'm remembering it right, and was responsible for focus-groups to change Teddy's name and outfit (but the groups, apparently, unanimously loved both, so there were no changes). It seems that, when Teddy came to Yes!, the decision to give him a primary-coloured outfit went ahead.

Thanks for sharing the link. I checked out the old Yes website a couple years back on archive.org and got a kick out of that an this looks like a similar archived version. You will notice in the photo of Teddy and the kid on the main page, the Teddy pictured is a Teddy I (WoW) dressed up in the Yes version's red outfit rather than an actual Yes! Teddy pictured. This was likely due to production being delayed and needing to get some promo stuff done in the meantime.
I am not a big fan of this version, but at the time it was exciting to have Teddy back on the market.
