I bought a tape adapter from Amazon and tried the Ipod yesterday with one of my metal tape player boys but the animation was very off. It also seemed to have motor studder, now these are tracks I downloaded from the archives website as MP3 is there anything else I need to do to the files? I don't have very many tapes of my own and since I fix these guys up I want to give one to my best friend as a baby gift with an Ipod shuffle or something. Any suggestions? It has been pointed out to me that yes I could buy her a new one that is more child sized and everything but for personal reasons this is something special I want to do for her.
On a side note, my original Teddy Ruxpin from when I was a kid he's a plastic player, I switch him on with or without a tape I hear the speaker for a second and a slight wheel turn and than nothing. He doesn't move he doesn't make any other noise and I have to drill out his screws so I haven't gotten him fully opened yet. Any ideas what's going on so I have something to look for? My fear is it's something with the tape deck itself which I have no experience with not that I'm not willing to learn but when I first started working on these guys I actually bought a used pair to get my feet wet and it went well. Mine is pretty special to me I got him at the children's hospital from Teddy Ruxpin when he came to visit the kids there and I won mine I have a polaroid with the Teddy Ruxpin that visited and everything. So I guess I feel more pressure to not break anything beyond repair with him. Thanks guys!
