Hey everyone, I just got my first Mother Goose (gen 2) and she's got a few problems that I need to sort out.
The first is that her tape deck doesn't disengage correctly when the eject button is pushed. You hear a pop but the door fails to open and additional presses give no pop. I can remove her side and then reset the mechanism (that funny latch thing) but this doesn't fix the issue. I've noticed that the spring-loaded tape reader is permanently lowered as well... my thoughts are that this is supposed to be connected to the latch somehow, so that when the door opens, the tape reader retracts upward and allows a tape to be loaded. Currently, a new tape can't be loaded correctly because the tape reader is in the way.
The second problem is that she's missing her left eyelid (still got the lashes). If it were pushed back into her head, would it be in the head or could it have fallen further into her neck? Can't hear any rattling in there but could it be caught on the inside of the fur somewhere? If there is no eyelid, what could I use as a replacement? Thinking I could design a new one and 3d print it but maybe there's a better option?
Finally, she's not opening her beak much when she's talking; however, the seller sent me a video of her singing to demonstrate the missing eyelid and she was moving it fine then. She moves it when she's supposed to but not very wide at all. The batteries aren't new, so I'm wondering if it could be that, but her eyes seem to be working fine and the audio isn't noticeably slow.
Anyways, thanks for reading and any help would be appreciated 🙂
