Neat. I am going to have to see if I can find one of them. At this time, I believe Wicked Cool Toys is aiming to release their version of Teddy Ruxpin "in the fall of 2017", so please understand that it's going to be some time before any of us can buy one. I just thought I should make that clear. He's not available yet.

Vanni90, there was a non animatronic non talking stuffed Teddy Ruxpin that was just a soft toy teddy bear, it didn't talk or anything like that, is the Teddy Ruxpin you have actually one of the electronic talking Teddy Ruxpin toys, or is it the non talking stuffed toy? Probably the easiest way to tell is by lifting the back of Teddy Ruxpin's tunic, that's indeed he's wearing one, do you see a hard plastic panel on the back of Teddy Ruxpin with anything resembling a cassette player on it? Could you please provide us with some pictures perhaps?

That's really wonderful to hear that you're getting a Teddy Ruxpin. Unfortunately the eyes and mouth not moving is quite common with the original version, it can be repaired, but it could be quite an involved job depending to what lengths you want to go to repairing it. Blueoctopede uploaded a series of videos that will show you a 'quick fix' solution, but if you want to really fix the problem, the motors will need to be pulled apart and lubricated. I understand that one of the problems with these early Teddy Ruxpin toys is the lubricant in the motors migrates to a part of the motor known as the commutator, I believe the commutator provides electrical power to the components in the motor. So you'd need to open up the motors and somehow remove the old lubricant and then apply new lubricant to the motors. I don't know how to do this, but I'm sure someone out there can provide you with help.

Unfortunately I don't think The Adventures of Teddy Ruxpin is available on iTunes. Yes the DVDs are available from Amazon and eBay of course, but it would be really awesome if they were legally available digitally from iTunes or Google Play or Netflix etc, I just had a very quick look in iTunes and found a few songs and podcast episodes relating to Teddy Ruxpin, but not the TV show, maybe it's available on iTunes in the US, but I don't know for sure. I think it would be great if it was available for digital download. Does anyone know if cable TV channels like Cartoon Network are showing The Adventures Of Teddy Ruxpin?

I only found out about Teddy Ruxpin in 1992 when I was 8 years old, I think the cartoon show may have been shown on network television here, (I live in Melbourne Australia), but since I most watched ABC TV as a child, (ABC is our national non commercial Government broadcaster), and I didn't watch many of the commercial TV channels, I don't remember seeing the show. I have watched it since then because my best mate has the box set of DVDs. It's a good show.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm currently in the process of doing some art of the Trio as the three Ghosts from A Christmas Carol. That seems like an interesting idea.

I'm reviewing every Teddy Ruxpin episode from the book and tape sets to the animated series on my blog. I do it once a week, and that will continue into next year. What do you mean when you say you're reviving them? Are you uploading the tapes and episodes to your blog?

When talking with my best friend the other day we were talking about Teddy Ruxpin's 30th anniversary because of course 2015 marks 30 years of Teddy Ruxpin since it was released in 1985. Does anyone know if anything has been done to commemorate 30 years of Teddy Ruxpin? My friend suggested that even if a new version of Teddy Ruxpin wasn't forthcoming, there could still be a little something done to commemorate 30 years of Teddy Ruxpin, perhaps some basic merchandise like T-Shirts, caps, badges, perhaps even some comic books or things like that. But does anyone actually know of anything being done to basically celebrate Teddy's 30th birthday so to speak? I understand from Josh Isaacson's Teddy Ruxpin Online Facebook page that he was planning some sort of Teddy Ruxpin documentary of sorts by Christmas time and I think he was asking people to send in their Teddy Ruxpin experience stories and testimonials, I should read the post again to be sure because I could of course be wrong or I could have misinterpreted what Josh said on his page, how many of you were aware of this? Well actually it's an article that's being published, not a documentary as I said in the last post, I'm not sure who's writing the article or publishing it.

The other night I was talking to a friend of mine who's a big fan of the BopIt series of electronic games produced by Hasbro, he also likes Teddy Ruxpin, but I think I like it a bit more than he does. Anyway, we were talking about new ideas for Teddy Ruxpin and I suggested a Teddy Ruxpin themed BopIt. My basic idea would be that it's a BopIt game with the Teddy Ruxpin logo on it and Teddy announcing the commands like bop it, twist it and pull it etc, and it should also feature sounds from the cartoon show or tapes. Sounds like Tweeg's cannon booming for the Bop It sound or maybe the Wogglies bouncing for the flick it sound and things like that, and maybe Tweeg screaming when you lose the game. It's just an idea I've had. What does everyone think?

I really wish people wouldn't freak out about this. A new Teddy, a new Teddy series, or a new Teddy movie would be nice, but, until we hear something official from the people involved in any new Teddy Ruxpin project, we shouldn't get our hopes up. I completely agree with you Monkeyboy5185, I know I said this to you a few days ago, but I'll say it again for the benefit of those on this thread who may not have seen our conversation on the other thread we were chatting on the other day. As much as I want to see another Teddy Ruxpin come out, and I do, I really am getting very irritated by these rumours to be brutally honest with everyone, I know that we all want to see a new version of Teddy Ruxpin, but jumping to conclusions about a new Teddy coming out just because the trademark is renewed isn't helping anyone at all I'm afraid, in the long term it could just make some people angry because they hear people saying that Teddy is coming back, then nothing happens and people get disappointed and upset, I know, that's how I've felt in the past, this isn't the first time rumours of a new Teddy Ruxpin have come up, they've come up many times before over the past 3 years or thereabouts, ever since the announcement of the new DVD box set that was released in 2012.

No, Rainbow Brite and My Little Pony are two different series. That tells you what I know about Rainbow Brite, nothing in other words, I'd never heard about it until I saw people mentioning it in this post.

I think he was all of our favourite as kids. And, to some degree, we all want him back. In some form. I'm honestly afraid to see him in animation again though. Mainly because of how much other characters' designs have changed in current animated incarnations. Namely Rainbow Brite, the Care Bears, and even Mickey Mouse and the Looney Tunes. They all look horrible these days in animated Television, and I'd hate to see Teddy redesigned like they all have been. I hardly ever watch cartoons or TV shows because I just don't care for such things a lot of the time, is Rainbow Brite from My Little Pony? I never ever cared for Micky Mouse, nor was I ever interested in him even as a child, I don't think I've ever watched the cartoon either. What's changed about Micky's visual appearance over the years. Even though I don't care about Mickey Mouse I know what a popular and iconic character he's been for some 60 odd years or more, so why would Disney want to change his characteristics and visual design? I know a lot of people got very upset when YES Entertainment changed Teddy's outfit from the tan brown tunic to the red T-shirt with the yellow stripes on it, but it doesn't bother me too much to be honest, I like them both, at least they didn't change his face too much, that said, no 2 Teddy Ruxpins look alike, do they. If a new Teddy does come out, and you already have probably guessed that deep down in my heart I do want to see a new Teddy Ruxpin, I hope he looks the same as he always did throughout the years. At this stage all we can do is wait and see what happens. I guess one reason why characters in cartoons change over time is because new illustrators have different ideas about what a character should look like.

Right. Well, if a new version of Teddy Ruxpin is developed and released, hopefully it will be better marketed and better managed than the BackPack Toys and YES versions, I'm going to be optimistic, but as I say, I'm annoyed about all these people saying that a new one's coming out next year, let's hope that something does happen, but only time will tell.

the answer is yes, he is coming back next summer. I found this out by going on trademarkia.com and when I looked up "teddy ruxpin", a new trademark was filed for him by alchemy 2 back in april 2015. Teddy Ruxpin means a great deal to everyone on this forum, we've all had our history with Teddy Ruxpin one way or another be it growing up with one as a child or discovering it later on in life, many of us have told our Teddy Ruxpin stories over the years. Teddy Ruxpin means a lot to me too. Whilst I've been wanting to see a new version of Teddy Ruxpin for some time now, I will say that the rumours of a new version of Teddy being released are actually starting to annoy me to be brutally honest with you, I'm beginning to get tired of people saying things like this. How can you be certain that a new version of Teddy Ruxpin is coming out next Summer? You specifically talk about Summer, but how do you know that's when one will be released? Whilst I know of the Teddy Ruxpin related article on Trademarkia, I haven't read the article properly, I've only glanced at it very briefly, I need to read the article in full before I can say anything conclusive. The forum user monkeyboy5185 (I hope I got the name right), posed some very good questions and replies to your comments. Whilst a new cartoon show or Teddy Ruxpin themed movie of sorts is not the same as a new toy, it's a step in the right direction, but we will see what happens in the fullness of time. The big problem is, people read articles like the one everyone's talking about and then they immediately come to a conclusion that a new version of Teddy Ruxpin is coming out, they tell everyone and everyone gets excited, then gets upset when nothing happens, ti is a problem.
