I've always had some questions about what the characters of grundo are. Like species. Some I know, which I will list below, correct me if i'm wrong. thanks I know teddy is an illiop, but what's the difference between a bear and a illiop. grubby's a octopede what's gimmick, I belive he's an illipare like princess aruzia and arin. isn't wooly a snowzo. leota's a woodsprite. tweeg's a grunge troll mix. l.b. is a bounder the mudblups are mudblups, but what are budblups. grundges are grundges, but again what makes a grunge a grunge, and why do we barley know their name. besides boomer. THANKS

I may be able to help, but only a little because of my limited perspective. I think Illiops are mor humanlike than actual bears, wearing clothes and having hands instead of paws. Their personalities are nothing like real bears either. I'm not completely sure so correct me if I'm wrong. Gimmick is a Perloon, hopefully I spelled that correctly, which are more like humans than Illipares, who have rounder features. Wooly is a Snowzo, just purple from Rainbow Falls' water. I don't know much about Grunges or Mudblups, which I imagine are walking mud piles. That's all I know, I hope it helps. The information is either from the stories, or other people like Josh, who have been kind enough to describe the characters to me.
Thank you.

I really don't think there's any difference between an Illiop and a bear. Gimmick is a Perloon, as is Eunice. While it's not, IIRC, explicitly stated in the book or series, Wooly is indeed heavily implied to be a Snowzo.
I figure that some of the species names were just to make the series seem more fanciful. Hence 'Illiop' instead of '(anthropomorphic) Bear' or 'Woodsprite' instead of 'Fairy'.

An Illiop is an anthro bear, yes, but with considerably rounder features and a shorter snout. Illipers are bear like, as they evolved from Illiops (hence the similiar name) and the reason why they have big, round noses (or snouts). Perloons are even more evolved, which is why they appear mostly human. They have lost all their bear-like features.

I've always thought illiops were Grundo's version of teddy bears, although I think they look a bit different from your average teddy. Are there even bears in Grundo or just illiops?
I want to ask a sighted person to look at Teddy and see what they think, but they look at me weird when I refer to him as an illiop, and they go, "He's just a bear."

There was once an ancient race in Grundo called the "Southern Bear" that Illiops evolved from.

Whoa. Where did you hear this? That's cool. It's been a while since I watched the series, but I'm re-watching it.
I noticed before I got my Grubby that I had a hard time describing to people what he is so they could help me look for one. They keep calling him a worm, which just bugs the fob outa me. Lol, I shouldn't be using fob like that, I should say mudblup instead.
