I'm using a new one now (upgr).

I was wondering when hacker initiations were going to start up again. Usually an influx of new viruses, trojans, worms, phishers, whatever are a sign that the elite hacker groups floating in cyberspace are opening up initiations to swell their ranks.
Sad fact. Hopefully this gets fixed quickly.

I just can't fathom why people do this sort of thing. Aside from some sort of personal gratification, what else is there? Can't you get your kicks somewhere else?

No, they can't. Because all they ever have is the bragging about they've got the best PC or managed to screw up someone else's. There are some really sad people in the world.

Another reason why they can't: No one in the REAL world where the rest of us are would even give Joe Blow or Jane Doe a second glance.
Why?
They don't do anything to merit the glance. They don't stand out.
The anonimity of the Net allows them to be anything and anyone, to do anything they want with such a delay in consequences that the crime is often forgotten long before they can change on-line persona and move on.

it is horrible i hope one day people like them could actually help other people and start making improvements for computers and not ruining them and make things that will benifit others like data doublers and other cool benificialry stuff that would be a cool thing to do and way better than making a virus that would ruin computers and such

If these kind of people spent half as much time trying to better the world as they do trying to wreck it, we could accomplish so much. This is really one of the underlying themes of Teddy Ruxpin's storyline as well... in a way, the talent and knowledge these kind of people possess are a lot like the Crystals... you can do a lot of good, or a lot of bad. Unfortunately, most people choose bad out of short-sightedness, greed, envy and instant gratification.

Or boredom. They are still skidmarks no matter the reasoning...
