I wouldn't have a problem in signing a Petition to WCT asking that they reconsider certain aspects of the promised Teddy, but I think that the language on the Petition as written is rather strong...in fact so strong that it is unlikely to have any effect other than to annoy the WCT people and end up in the round file. It actually comes off as insulting to their efforts IMHO. Now maybe you and others believe that those efforts deserve to be insulted. But doing things in that manner does not seem to me the way to ask them to rethink some things (although it may or may not be too late at this point in any case.) Insulting them may just cause them to consider dropping the whole thing. I don;t like many of the changes at all, but am ambivalent about this whole thing as a concept. I think it has to be accepted that there will never be an equivalent of the WoW Teddies on the market. And that leaves what might reasonably be brought to the market by the toy industry as it currently exists. So while I am unlikely to consider buying one of these WCT Teddies, I still hope they are successful repopularizing Teddy. And that's simply because I believe that the stories provide some very valuable lessons to young children. Despite some periodic comments on the internet that kids today would have no interest in Teddy or would be afraid of him, I've given repaired Teddies to families where I felt both parents and kids would appreciate him, and find that the kids always love him and love hearing his stories. In my vew, if the original stories are not the subject tampering...and that seems to be the intention of WCT...it a positive for children.

I agree that the description seems like a thoughtless rant, it could have been said much better, especially without calling the company "arrogant" (regardless on whether they are or not). I almost cringed.
However, as much as I hate the new Teddy design, I think it is already too late.. The website is created showing this design, there is even a commercial... Unfortunately, I think Teddy is doomed to stay in this ugly form no matter what we do.

I don't get the blue eyes either. This is one aspect that should not have been changed. But presumably the color will be customizable.

Yeah, it is a cringy description but I have to type something in there, so... I know you had to type something. That does not mean you had to make it such a description. It sounds like whining.

Well, people were so desperate to get Teddy fixed. So... I made a petition. That's all there is to it.

There is no technical limitation against giving it brown eyes, so I assume you're referring to a software one. What makes you so sure the software limits this?

I did not think the software limits this, although I even doubt it will be easy to modify.. But I thought you meant, that it will be customisable to the average user. Not modification.

That is what I meant by software, yes. Software customizability accessible to the end-user. I'm not suggesting people start modifying the firmware in their new Teddy Ruxpin to change the eye color.

The eye colour will not be customisable. The application for the toys, is just scanned in artwork with scrolling text. There is nothing about changing the eye colour. Even in the commercial they do not advertise it.

There's nothing wrong with making a petition to try to change something you don't like, but the way you set up this petition was really disrespectful to Wicked Cool Toys. You made it seem as if they didn't try at all with bringing back the new Teddy, even though I don't like his new design I can see that some thought went into trying to make him appeal to the new generation.

Well others don't like the new Teddy... I'm done here. I try making a petition and everybody criticizes me for it, no thanks. Not trying to cry, I'm just not really interested in dealing with it anymore.
