Hi, Everyone. I just saw in a local Costco Magazine that the new Teddy Ruxpin will be sold at Costco. i am not sure if Costco is located in each area a member is located, but I thought I'd mention this... and this article was the first time I've ever seen Ken Forsse in the flesh.

There's a Costo here (2 in fact). I'll check to see if they're selling.

That's cool. I would've thought Teddy would be off the shelves by now.

Ty's Toy Box is out. Amazon still has them, back at the higher priced $68... so stock is definitely running out. I'm going to buy the software sets on clearance at Ty's and then look for a second and probably a third Backpack version on Ebay. With TR going the way of the buffalo another time it's also time to seriously consider buying a couple of WoW sets and having Dr. Eeyore refurb them. Even if I never have kids I have lots of friends who're having them.. and I refuse to not be a popular uncle.

I am happy to say I have at least 2 of every incarnation of our favorite talker. As for the others in the set, took me forever, but I think I managed to snag an example of each that was available to the public. This is a set of toys I will NEVER part with.
Bury me with my Teddy.

I have my original WoW Teddy, a second WoW Teddy, and a third, MIB WoW Teddy. I also have a Grubby sitting around as well as a Grubby MIB on my shelf. My original Grubby was a gift for my 10th birthday that my parents found at a yard sale in NJ and luckily came with his connector cord and pajamas (with all his boots!) The Teddy he came with was useless, as the neck was "snapped" and the head sags. I'm sure Dr. Eeyore could fix this if I had the money to send it out to her. The MIB Grubby was a gift from my birth mother (I was adopted) a couple of years ago, and is something I've always wanted. I remember going into Toys R Us as a kid and seeing all those Teddys and Grubbys in their boxes side by side, and always wanted them to look just like that in my room. Now I have a MIB Teddy and Grubby who sit beside one another just like they used to 25 years ago.
I've managed to amass quite a collection thanks to eBay. I have just about every book and tape set save for the ever-elusive "Quiet Please". Many are still NIB. I have a purple Fob puppet in the box, a Tweeg puppet, one of each of the figurines, the model Airship, a 3D plastic puzzle, a standard puzzle, and several of the VHS releases. I have two Answer boxes with some books and tapes, a set of "flocked" figurines (they have fuzz on them, though I'm not sure how fuzzy Grubby was SUPPOSED to be...), all the outfits (some from eBay, some from my childhood), and two Land of Grundo maps (one was included with my Airship auction).
I also have a Playskool version of "The Airship" book. I always liked the blue color of that version, though I will always be partial to the golden brown of the WoW Teddy Ruxpin products. Whenever I see that color, I think of Teddy, and it takes me back to simpler, happier times.
I have my Yes! Teddy Ruxpin sitting on my shelf. I still have his Airship book and tape set. I also managed to snag the TV video pack for this version, though I've never used it. The original VHS that came with it is still in it's wrapping. I never bothered to hook it up.
Then there is my BackPack Toys Teddy with all his book and tape sets. He's still in his box (I keep him in there when I'm not using him...it displays very nicely alongside the other NIB Teddy and Grubby.) He has become one of my favorites, I'm proud to say.
I suppose one day I may have to part with all this, but not now. Not anytime soon. I know I will be taking at least one Teddy with me to the grave.

Amen! I gave my first Teddy away many many moons ago, and I've regretted it ever since. Now that I've rediscovered him, I'm never letting Teddy go again!
