Hi everyone, forgive me if this subject has been raised before, I may have previously raised it myself, so please forgive me for that, but I wanted to put this to all of you. I wonder if the creators involved with Teddy Ruxpin are aware of this forum, BlueOctopede's Facebook wall, the Teddy Ruxpin online Facebook page, and the many many many YouTube videos related to Teddy Ruxpin, particularly videos uploaded by people like blueoctopede, applesocks89, myself and various others who have made lots of videos about Teddy Ruxpin. I just wonder if they realise how wide and diverse the Teddy Ruxpin fanbase really is, I mean on YouTube and Facebook and here you've got many many people of all ages talking about Teddy Ruxpin all over sites like this and YouTube, wouldn't it be wonderful if the creators of Teddy Ruxpin, people Ken Forsse, Phil Baron, Will Ryan and the others in the creation team were on this forum and posted replies to people's threads? It would also be wonderful if people like that would also comment on YouTube videos relating to Teddy Ruxpin. I may be dreaming here, but I think I've seen Kin Forsse's wife's name show up on Facebook a few times if I'm not mistaken, but I may be wrong. I just wonder if the creators behind Teddy Ruxpin realise how much we all love the toy and the TV show and everything Teddy Ruxpin related.

Well, Josh knows Ken Forsse, if that helps.

I know that Josh knows Ken Forsse, I've read the interviews he did with Ken and they're really good, all the same if the people involved with Teddy Ruxpin actually interacted with the fanbase on this forum, on YouTube and Facebook that would truly be so wonderful, they'd really get a feel for the current fanbase even though there's not current Teddy Ruxpin merchandise available aside from the new DVD's.

Perhaps Josh could talk Mr. Forsse into joining up here. Hint, hint.

The Forsse's have been friends of mine for about 15 years and contacted me initially through the site - so they're definitely aware of at least this slice of the online Teddy community Mr. Baron is an acquaintance and also aware of the site. Other voice talent I've been in contact with through the years includes Katie Leigh, John Koensgen and Abby Hagyard. As far as anyone getting involved here - that is totally up to them. Sometimes a few overzealous or mean spirited fans can ruin the opportunity for the many. This pertains to anything, and not necessarily to anyone involved with Teddy. Just sayin'. Sometimes people just want to maintain a certain amount of privacy.

Well, that's all fair enough, and I guess your last paragraph is why they've so far chosen not to publically post to the forum as far as we know, you're so lucky to know this people Josh, I have so much respect for Teddy Ruxpin and the other characters, I just thought i'd put that out and see what others out there think. It would be wonderful if said people showed up as posters to this forum, but if they don't then that's up to them as you say.

But I'd like to think that we're one of the few fandoms out there that can control ourselves when it comes to interacting with the minds behind our favorite talking toy. After all, we haven't completely split this forum with flamewars about which Teddy is the best. Have I mentioned how much I love being part of this fandom?

After all, we haven't completely split this forum with flamewars about which Teddy is the best. I suspect that it's only natural - it seems that the majority of Teddy fans have been strongly impacted by Teddy's influence. (At least the ones that I've encountered, anyway - I'm under no illusions that bad apples don't exist somewhere out there.) (P.S.: Teddy II rules. Hehe. ;D) Seconded. ;D

While I would love the chance to interact with Mr. Forsse and Mr. Baron and other members of the Teddy family, I can definitely see Josh's point here, and more importantly, the point of the people involved in Teddy's creation.
As Josh has said, it only takes one bad apple to bring out the worms, and those worms could scare away those with good intentions. I don't point this at anyone in particular, as I have never had this personal experience here on these forums. In fact, I know Josh has gone to great lengths to maintain the integrity of these forums and the people involved, and I'd like to commend both him and the members of this board for continuing to enjoy Teddy in the most kind-spirited comradery.
However, there is also the issue of privacy and the fact that while it may be fun to have a Q&A with some of these fantastic people, the fear of being hounded with questions and answering daily queries could be what makes them hesitant to join. While I don't think many of them begrudge their contributions to the Teddy-verse, I think they probably enjoy their quiet lives and allowing others to reap the benefits of the magic they've sewn.
Just my thoughts.

Thank you Vincent for your comments. Much appreciated. I have tried my best to keep this place civil. Most of the time that is an easy task, because overwhelmingly the fans most loyal to Teddy are those who want to emulate the kind of cordial, fun interaction he had with the other characters on the show (the friendly ones, at least.) There have been a handful in 15 years who have made me wonder exactly what story they were exposed to, as they didn't capture those same ethics at all. One of them might have actually been Tweeg. One of them did try to cause a lot of problems. I can't and don't speak for anyone, but it would be my guess that the 'fans' who shoot the canonballs are the ones who keep people away from everyday interaction with fans on a medium such as this. I am VERY humbled, lucky, proud, etc. to have had the chance to develop the friendships I've got the chance to make resulting from this project, which began when I was just a kid. I think everyone has some streak of luck in their life and this was definitely mine. Whether they ever come here and interact with us individually or not, I know all of us appreciate the gift the creative team behind Teddy gave to us. I am very proud to call all of you my friends as well. We are a good group of folks. Like Cyborg said, we all had a very good teacher - and we're good students. I know in my day to day dealings in the world I sometimes grow weary from negative experiences with humanity. I often think of this little group of folks and smile. The world could really learn something from us. Hopefully our teacher will be back to help a new generation along sometime soon.

Teddy embodies all the qualities that this world has lost over the years. He's decent, wholesome and pure. And I've tried to emulate him my whole life. And whenever I have a bad experience with humanity, I visit Grundo for a little while and just spend time with Teddy, Grubby and Gimmick. Those visits make me feel better. Part of that visit is coming here and visiting with all of you. This is an amazing group, and except with my best friend, there's never been anywhere that I've felt more welcome and liked, inspite of my physical disabilities than this group. I also appreciate the support I've gotten from you guys and gals on my Teddy Ruxpin slideshow that I'm making. Unfortunately, it still has a little ways to go, as I don't have all the materials I need for it. I'm still missing some scans, including ones for the books I own, as my dad hasn't dug them out of the basement yet. I'm glad to count Teddy, the rest of the Grundo gang, and all of you as my friends. I'm grateful to Mr. Forsse, Mr. Baron, Mr. Ryan and all the others who made Teddy Ruxpin who he is, and for this group, because without them, Teddy wouldn't be here, and we wouldn't gather here to talk about him.
