Do you prefer the toy with his book and tape series or the TV series? I really can't decide which one I like best. I love how the series has such an involved story line that you have to watch in order, or at least you do if you're OCD like me, but I also love how the stories in the tapes are just indescribably awesome and extra cute. I also adore the fact that he is a teddy bear and I think both my Teddy Ruxpins are the greatest thing since sliced bread. He is a toy that not only tells you stories and sings to you, but he is also a friend that you can cuddle and love, and yes, even sleep with.

I love both of them. I grew up with both the tv series and the toy and watched/listened to them all the time. My dad taped five of the first six episodes for me, as well as the second to last one, and "Teddy and the Mudblups", "Win One for the Twipper", "The Mushroom Forest" and "Wooly and the Giant Snowzos".

I love both of them, too. They complement each other excellently, and I just can't imagine one without the other. When I was younger, my parents bought one of the VHS tapes that was issued here (it contained the episodes The Big Escape, and Teddy Ruxpin's Birthday), which I watched a lot of times - with Teddy, of course. That, the three tapes I had for my Teddy, and the way all of the stories I had access to and memories of sparked my imagination, constituted the roots of many adventures together.

I echo the comments of Cyborg and Monkeyboy. Although they cover the same worlds and storyline, the two different mediums developed them each in a way that also stands on it's own as a unique interpretation of Ken Forsse's original dream. I too agree that they compliment each other very well. As an adult, there are themes - and humor- in the TV series that bring a new level of enjoyment to that, while the Adventure Series retains a magic of sorts that I find slipping away in general as I grow older. I definitely enjoy them differently, but I can't choose one over the other. This website is slightly skewed more to TV show content, because Mathue of the TRFAQ was around before I was and his website was always more toy-centric. Over the years my website has complimented the TRFAQ and vice-versa and I think our two similar yet unique/stand alone digests of TR info are an interesting parallel to the TV show vs. Toy argument.

No point in going against the majority.
Each 'canon' has its own charm. The books have better songs IMO, and the series has an over-arcing story that the books generally lack, aside from small references here and there that tie certain books to others.
I very much agree with Josh that the books and the series complement each other very nicely. The books have a more pin-point focus on a particular plot line, while in the series the same plot line is part of a much bigger plot. It really is ingenious when you really think about it.
