Recently I acquired scans from some of the Backpack Toys' Teddy Ruxpin books and I noticed that they changed the Map of Grundo. They took out The Jungle with No Name (Labelled as "Grunges" in the original books), they moved the Moss Forest to over between Leekee Lake and Rainbow Falls, shifted Wooly's house over to the open spot where the Grunges were, shortened Trembly Fault to that same open spot, added the school tree to where Wooly's house was, moved the big rock formation between the the meadow behind King Nogburt's Castle, and where the Moss Forest was, turned the Wizard's Fortress around to face King Nogburt's Castle, moved Woodley Bog over to the Great Desert across from Wooly's house and finally, added a small island just off Ben's Beach.
The other changes are minor, as they pertain to how things are labelled, and there's some new labels, like Leekee Lake is labelled, so are the Treacherous Mountains, as well as the volcano in the middle of the Great Desert and Rillonia. My question is, what is the island off Ben's Beach supposed to be? Is it meant to show Hermit's Island, despite it being in the middle of Leekee Lake as shown in the tv show, or is it supposed to be an unnamed place, merely shown for the fun of it?

The maps are an odd thing. The map in the Japanese books is the exact one that came with the Airship toy.

Not sure exactly what it all means - but I remember having a conversation with Ken about him changing the map around a bit - so it was a deliberate change. I know in a lot of cases he just wanted to be clearer about what was what. I couldn't speak to it any more than that without getting clarification. Something else for the list of questions

It just interested me at how different the map is between the original books and the Backpack books. And I was curious about the new island off Ben's Beach, as I know it wasn't in any of the maps from the WoW or Playskool books. That would be a good question to ask Mr. Forsse about next time you interview him.
