I just saw this whilst trying to get some more information about the current DVD licensing of The Adventures of Teddy Ruxpin. It's from the series' Wikipedia entry, and it's fascinating purely because it involves a real-life manifestation of MAVO..... In the form of a music shop! How awesome is that? ;D (It also gives rise to some quite humourous mental images of MAVO members in a band, or trying to run said music shop - presumably with Ickley Bognostroclum trying to throw musical or business rules at them in the process.)

Well, who says there isn't a band in MAVO, or MAVO members running a music store? They can become pirates and sail the skies in a large, black airship, and they run like any ordinary organization. Besides, if the Wizard can run an amusement park, and his own fortune-telling/person finding business, along with the Grundo Gazette, then why can't an evil organization run an evil music store, or have an evil band? Lol.

True that! I just didn't expect to learn of it existing in "our world". ;D

Every franchise has their own "our world" thing. The Klingon language from Star Trek is an actual language here in the real world, for a while Jediism was considered to be an official religion, and I'm sure there are many other things like that, inspired by books, movies, comic books/graphic novels, and tv shows.

I heard about that awhile back. Pretty awesome... and a great name for a record/hobby/comic type store.
Years ago I thought about creating a MAVO.org internet website, but someone beat me to the domain name.

Oh, wow. I remember reading that Teddy influenced Bulgaria's music scene, but I had no idea a band named themselves after MAVO.
That's awesome!

I think MAVO would be a good name for a record company, as most of the big-name record companies are evil, lol.

I won't name names or point fingers, but certain tv studios are evil when they cancel a tv show before giving it a good chance to get going.
