An issue that I've talked briefly about on another forum is the application of fan-made Teddy Ruxpin media to a table-top role-playing game like Dungeons and Dragons or another system. The current rules for DND Version 4 seems easier for me in particular to translate into characters from the series as well with some shoe-horning.
If people were to generate the stats for races such as Illiops, Octopedes, Perloons, Illipers and Droglins (what I refer to as Tweeg's species), how would they appear in different games? Also, what do you think the classes for the characters from TR would be? ------------------------------------------------- Interesting bit:
In DND 3.5, I considered Teddy to be either a monk (for agility), the bard (for his ability to build others up) or Cleric (for his ability to follow a cause and keep his friends together). Being somewhat observant of ursine behavior, illiop stats when along with +2 Constitution and Wisdom, -2 Strength and Charisma. They had the scent ability, were very resistant to hostile enchantment effects and ultimately ended up with a +1 level adjustment - meaning that they were more powerful than standard races and leveled up slower to compensate.
Teddy ended up being a monk because they had access to the perform skill - which meant he could sing and tell stories as well as hold his own in a battle and be agile enough to dodge, jump, tumble, swim and climb like a pro. With this design in mind, I fashioned most of his later visuals (ie. muscular body proportions) with this influence. ----------------------------------------------

I think you could use the 3.0 rules or you could GURP it.
For LegRux I think the GURPS system may work better than D&D.

I know that GURPS and the D20 system are the most popular roleplaying systems, but I would give serious consideration to the system used by the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" roleplaying game. It's a D10-based system, and places more emphasis on storytelling and less on hit points. It's a great system for characters based on television series.
If you're not familiar with it, check it out.

I think I've dabbled in Buffy but it was a while back...

I've only done some minor role-playing. Nothing heavy-duty. A quest here, a quest there. Most of it was in D&D's D20 system. It's a solid system, but there's a lot of other systems out there. My brother in-law has played the Call of C'thulu (I know I spelled that wrong and am waiting to get chewed out...lol...) system. I also played the Savage Worlds system...I can't remember the names of these...just the games I used them in. That was a great system if you wanted a more cinematic, action-oriented gaming experience. Very much in the spirit of Indiana Jones...but perhaps a bit too hostile for Teddy.
You would probably know better than I.

That depends on the portrayal. My LegRux project is slightly different, keyed into a more grittier style where characters do fight off hordes of Gutangs and even fight off a dark angel. D20 would work.
