AlchemyII has reached an agreement with a new distributor for The Adventures of Teddy Ruxpin on DVD.
The previous releases have been out of print for almost 2 years, so this will be welcomed news by those fans who missed out on the first run.
But old Teddy fans are going to want to buy this special edition too. More info will be released soon.

I hope that the new company does some restoration work on the shows this time... I sold my other set and I was hoping that Teddy goes to a better DVD company... Mill Creek is TERRIBLE....

More info will be released soon. Is it "soon" yet? ;D The Mill Creek releases were never made available in the UK, and I never got around to importing them. I'm happy to import this new edition, but it would certainly be nice if it got an official release over here - after all, Teddy was popular here, too! (Moreover, the state of British kids' TV nowadays is utterly atrocious, and we could really use characters like Teddy and his friends as an entertainment option in this day and age.)

I'm almost sure I'm going to buy this set, even it would be only a slight improvement over the previous one. I agree with ruxpin4ever that it would be nice if the show got some restoration, and I hope for a higher disc count to have a better picture quality (5 episodes/disc would be excellent). I have two other wishes, but I'm afraid a blu-ray release would be a bit too expensive to produce and that it would be rather pointless to include my beloved Dutch dub of the show on a release that is targeted to a North-American audience. But I keep dreaming.

I've picked up the Mill Creek DVDs while I'm waiting (I found some places that still had stock and would ship to here! ), but I'd still love to pick up a new release, too, especially if the extras are worthwhile and the sound-warble issues from Mill Creek's sets are eliminated. Is there any chance of the live-action pilot appearing this time? (I've just picked it up on VHS, as it turns out that while it was never shown on TV here it did get a home-video release, and hope to digitise it, but I would jump at the chance for a better-quality DVD version.)

Still waiting on a release date - but should be soon. Yours truly wrote episode synopses for the liner notes - (is that what you call them on a DVD?) and if they use them, I will have my first official credit on a Teddy Ruxpin product. This is actually the first I've ever mentioned it as I didn't want to jinx it. Seeing my name on a TR related box in even 5pt. font would be a celebratory day for me. Even better than the BackPack era interviews I did to promote it. Rather than jinx it though maybe it will be a benefit to sharing the possibility if you all will send up some prayers and well wishes
