This was a sort of "game" on a former message board of mine.
I would ask my members to post what they were listening to. It could be music, It could be a movie. I also asked, if they wanted to post lyrics or dialogue if they wanted.
So for Instance, since I am also watching the movie Mad Max while I am posting; I will use this dialogue.
It is the scene where Max Rockatansky is in the MFP garage with Jim the Goose and The MFP mechanic talking about the 1973 Ford Falcon XB GT (The Black V-8 Interceptor Pursuit Special):
Jim Goose: You can shut the gates on this one, Maxie...It's the duck's guts!!!
Mechanic: She has phase four heads and sips nitro...600 horsepower to the wheels. She is meanness tuned to music and born to run! (NOTE: There are polite snips for "colorful adult metaphors" in the exact quote.)
-Max is silently taking it all in, in awe of the mechanical materpiece running and roaring in front of him as it is revving and reverberating in the garage.-
Jim Goose: I think he is in a coma, man!
Max: -it slowly clicks with him that this is an extraordinary car- Where did you guys find all this stuff?
Mechanic: You know...A part from here and part from there...
Jim Goose: C'mon Max! You've seen it! You've heard it! And you're still asking questions?!
Max: - Smiles- When do we go for a ride?
Jim the Goose and the MFP Mechanic Cheer.
Meanwhile Fifi and Labatouche are inside the Halls of Justice monitoring on a radio:
Fifi: Yes, I think We've got him!
Labatouche: Good, although I don't like having to seduce your best chase-man with "candy."
Fifi: Max is a Hero!
Labatouche: I know, I know...you want to give the people their heroes...I don't like wasting money! -storms off-
Fifi: -sarcastically and out of earshot of Labatouche- Thanks Labatouche! You're a real human being!
The first time I saw this movie, I cried at what that evil gang did to him and cheered for him when he got revenge for it! The protagonist loses so much and it makes the movie really sad overall. But it is good too, because it helps you understand him in Road Warrior and later in Beyond Thunderdome.
You could also post lyrics to a song.
It is also okay to just post the name of the song and the band. It was an interesting way to get an idea of what everyone listened to.
