What cartoon characters did you fellows desired as a kid?
For me from ages 4 in 1985 to age 14 in 1995:
Adora (She-Ra). (My first crush) Teela (He-Man). Frosta (She-Ra). Scarlett (GI Joe). Sorcerss (He-Man). Mermista (She-Ra). Glimmer (She-Ra). Cleo (Heathcliff). Catra (She-Ra). Cheetara (Thundercats). Calla (Gummi Bears). Wonder-Woman (Super Friends). Teegra (Fire and Ice). (Saw this on video at age 5 in 1986) Karen (Teddy Ruxpin). Nightshade (COPS). Aurora (Sleeping Beauty). April (Ninja Turtles). Ariel (Little Mermaid). Zelda (Super Mario Brothers Super Show and Legend of Zelda). Tulla (Pirates of Dark Water). Jenny (Bucky O'Hare). Jasmine (Aladdin). Poison Ivy (Batman). Taarna (Heavy Metal). ( I saw this movie on TBS when i was 12 in 1993 and she blew my mind) Sally Acorn (Sonic The Hedegehog). Callie (Swat Kats). Miranda (Bonkers). Demona (Gargoyles). Lupe (Sonic The Hedgehog). Eliza (Gargoyles).

Aruzia always looked weird to me but Karen is pure perfection even in Butterfly mode.

Hmmm ok girl perspective here: Hot cartoon guys? I think Disney had the cliche lead male stereotype down pact. I always loved the underdog though. So here is my list! Thomas - Pocahontas 1995 Dimitri - Anastasia 1997 King Authur - Disney's Sword in the Stone Ratty - Wind in the Willows Sir Victor Igthorn - Disney's Gummi Bears Victor Von Dort - Tim Burton's Corpse Bride Coldstone - Disney's Gargoyles Mais Hughes - Full Metal Alchemist General Yamato - Naruto Shippuden Patch D'Coolette - Sonic the Comic Franz - Comte du Monte Cristo (Gankutsuou) Lance - Voltron: Defender of the Universe (1986) and Go Lion William Jones - Emma: A Victorian Romance (anime) Prince Arin - The Adventures of Teddy Ruxpin Johann - The Smurfs - Peyo, Hanna Barbara 1984-1988 and "Les Adventures de Johann un Pirlout" - Peyo ********** I actually found this pretty hard to do... as I said above, Disney has the monopoly on "handsome lead men", yet I find them to be lacking in interest. I had to dig around and find the characters that I loved not because of their looks but because of the complexity of the character leading to me taking an interest in them. I think they sold Karen short as a character. She is very attractive and has a nice set of coconuts, but surely there is more to a character beyond the way her breasts are drawn or how she is drawn in general.... I kind of find the whole thing rather sexist. It would be no different than me posting something about some animated guy's package... and how I was so lucky to see it in the unedited version. Catch my drift? As far as I know this IS supposed to be a PG forum. PG-13 is pushing it. You may want to edit your post there korbin.

Like I said in another string, I have an animorph thing going:
Teddy (of course) Throttle - Biker Mice From Mars (it's the voice) Raphael - TMNT (something about the brash, sarcastic type) Bumblebee - 1984 Transformers
I have a short list for so many characters I used to watch.

Jasmine (Aladdin) Miranda (Bonkers...ironic) Ariel (The Little Mermaid)
There's a bunch more. Jasmine was my all time favorite. I have a pic of her and me at Walt DisneyWorld circa 2003. It was great...
Still...as fond of those memories as I am...it's kind of silly to be talking about them almost 15 years later...

Remember BMFM? The show came back in the UK for a short stint of episodes in 2006. I managed to snag those in completion. I just wish I had the 3-4 seasons that played in North America. Supposedly there is an episode in the last season where Vinnie and Charlie actually kiss. Rumor of course, but I want to check it out for myself.

Wow, one of the earliest examples of interspecies romance before Furry fanfiction stories.

With Vinnie, I don't think he really cared what species they were so long as it was clearly a she, was open to his - shall we say - wild ways, and was not a cat.

I'm wondering if it silently got banned and swept under a rug right after it aired on TV

I wouldn't be surprised. Cartoon censors can be such prudes sometimes for the most innocuous things.

Gusto Gummi from the Gummi Bears. ^^ Raphael from Ninja Turtles. Strange thing is, they both had the same voice actor.

HA ha!!! I wish I had seen this topic earlier!!! ;D Easy. The first and foremost: Maid Marian of Disney's Robin Hood. (Something about combining Medieval & Renaissance times, Anthropomorphic and Anthro-foxes just made me like her from the get-go.) Other Disney characters: Princess Jasmine, mysterious Arabian princess...sounds exotic...why not? Belle (from Beauty and the Beast She was smart, liked to read and learn. These are traits I admire. I have also always liked a girl who is good with machines and working on cars!!! So in that same vein I really liked Gadget Hackwrench from Chip 'n' Dale's Rescue Rangers. Elisa Mazza from Gargoyles was nice. The animation of her was done well, she always had a nice feminine physique and they made a pair of tight fitting jeans really anatomically correct on her! (Geeze. I can't believe I typed that! I am leaving it in.) Cheetara from Thundercats (Someone mentioned her.) And who can forget Jessica Rabbit from Who Framed Roger Rabbit? She was the classic and necessary 1930's detective movie knock-out!!! Only she was animated...Oh yeah!!! "Hey there, honey-bunny!"I liked others as well. I am sure I am leaving them out. I was always more fond of Anthropomorphic animal cartoon creatures though.
