Hi everyone.
I've been a fan of Teddy Ruxpin for my whole life. I was born in 1985, and Teddy was one of my first childhood toys. Some of my earliest memories are of listening to the talker, watching the cartoon, and, I'm somewhat embarrassed to say, breaking the propellor on my toy airship just like the Gutangs did in "Escape from the Treacherous Mountains" (my mom says that I did a dead-on Gutang "FIIIIIIIIRE THE ROOOOOOCKKKK!!!").
Since Teddy's been a part of my life for so long, the music has become rather ingrained in my mind. The cartoon had some rather distinctive background music that I've become quite fond of. Recently, I've started sequencing MIDI files by ear (mostly music from another one of my favorite shows, Cat Ninden Teyandee), something that I actually have become somewhat good at despite not having any kind of musical background (I never played an instrument, can't read sheet music or anything). Receiving the first two volumes of TAoTR on DVD for Christmas gave me a good opportunity to record snippets of audio to use for reference, and I've completed a MIDI of one of my favorite pieces of background music from the show:
home.mchsi.com/~mbiddinger/trbgm1.mid
It's not perfect (since there's dialogue and sound effects and such in the way in-show, making it somewhat difficult to hear), but I think it's pretty close. I'm planning on doing some more pieces of background music as well as some of the vocal numbers (specifically "Take a Good Look" and Tweeg's "To Be Rich" song), and of course the opening theme "Come Dream With Me Tonight". If anyone has any suggestions for songs they'd like to hear, feel free to post (preferrably something from the first two TAoTR DVDs... my VHS's are packed away, and I don't have the equipment needed for ripping audio from them set up anyway).
