Yeah, I've managed to use that technique before. The big issue is that the hinged cover leaves little space to get a good grip on the batteries.

Hmm, I don't have them in front of me at the moment, but I think the head-turning Mother Goose had a non-hinged battery cover. I can't be sure, but I'm pretty sure it's the non-head turning Mother Goose that has a hinged battery cover.
The hinged covers make it really annoying to try to put batteries in and take out. I've hurt my fingers a few times trying to pry them out.

I think you should be able to gently move her head to see if there's the chance for movement. The joint should be around where her head meets her neck.

You've pretty much got it as far as Mother Goose is concerned. Only the first run of her had the ability to turn her head. The ones that followed had static head.
Hector was essentially Mother Goose's version of Grubby. I believe that he had a cable like Grubby that would allow him to animate and tell stories with Mother Goose. However, unlike Grubby, he had his own line of stories that were based on nursery rhymes.
He's also super adorable (how could anyone in his story think he's ugly?!), and he's on my wish list.

I think that, if nothing else, it would repair the crack in the seventh crystal.

It's one of the most adorable scenes, since we also get to see Ilana holding a tiny baby Teddy in her arms. I know he's just an animatronic puppet, but he's still one of the cutest things. I believe it was also what Mr. Forsse planned to do for the entire Teddy Ruxpin series, but animation was far cheaper. Judging just from the staging and costuming of this special alone, I can't even imagine how much it would have cost to do it. I totally want a full-length version of Ilana singing "Come Dream With Me Tonight," though. It is interesting, though, that the Teddy costumes from this special, the "Come Dream With Me Tonight" video, and the live-action intros and outros to the cartoon videos had different heads. To be fair, the heads were almost identical. The live action intro head lacked eyebrows and colored irises, but that's it. They were? I thought the head used in the VHSs of the animated series was taller and thinner than the other two.

No I mean what is happening to make it live action? Sorry for the dumb question, but I have a non-working pair of eyeballs, so all I got was the audio. It’s not a dumb question. This video is of the live action Teddy Ruxpin special that aired on ABC in 1985 that was made with actors in costumes of the characters instead of the later cartoon. I believe it was also what Mr. Forsse planned to do for the entire Teddy Ruxpin series, but animation was far cheaper. Judging just from the staging and costuming of this special alone, I can't even imagine how much it would have cost to do it. The Spinoza tapes are cute. They also have strong messages that are good for any age. One tape, which I've heard on youtube, involves a simple meditation for unwinding at the end of the day. This can be used by anybody. My only complaint, though that might be too strong of a word, is that there aren't really adventure elements and the stories are quite short. The exception is "The Legend of Spinoza," which is about half an hour long. The other tape I have for him also loops every 5 minutes or so. That does get boring quickly. Over all, they are worth a listen. The repetition kind of makes sense when you think of the original purpose of Spinoza. From everything I've read about him, he was designed to be a therapy toy for children who were sick or grieving. Like the tape "Hold on to Me" was intended to help children to cope with grief and loss. There were even a pair of tapes that were designed for asthma sufferers.

I'll be 32 come April, and I still happily belt along with Teddy whenever his songs pop up on my MP3 player.
You're never too old to enjoy the things you loved as a child.

I know that you can get McCall's patterns for different Teddy outfits on Ebay, so you can make your own. You might can find one of those and use it as a base to make your own version of that outfit.

Hmm, well just going by the picture in "Quiet Please," the knight looks to be almost twice as tall as Teddy himself. Gimmick, on the other hand, is around the same height as Teddy, so it seems that, for one, humans may be taller than Perloons.
Also, this human seems to have more normal body proportions than Gimmick has.

I can't imagine that they wouldn't. After all, one of the books that Teddy reads in the book "Quiet Please" seems to be about a knight, who looks to be more humanlike than the Perloons.
