Can anyone in the forum provide some information on talkin Big Bird and Cookie Monster that Ideal came out with about the same time that Teddy Ruxpin was introduced. Someone recently tried to tell me that these were WoW toys, which is of course incorrect. Research tells me they from Ideal in 1895 or 86. The individual who believed they were WoW seemed to think so because he said that Cookie Monster was connected to Big Bird with a cord and they talked to each other. But being there is no tape cassette, I have to assume that the conversations were limited. Does anyone know how these guys worked, whether there was any animation (seems not) and extent of their conversations?

The Cookie Monster toy had two inputs, one for Big Bird to connect, and one for the Oscar toy. They were like Grubby, and would only talk when Big Bird would get to their part of the story. Big Bird is essentially the same as Teddy is.

In addition, there were certain cassettes that only animated Big Bird, one that animated Oscar and Big Bird only, and several that animated the trio together.
