Hey everyone! So, I own a Gabby Bear and all 10 of the stories, and after all these years of owning these, I figured it'd only be fair I go ahead and share all these rare and unique stories with all of you for Teddy Ruxpin History sake. ๐ I've uploaded the first 6 stories so far, and I'm hoping to get the other 4 uploaded this weekend. Hope you guys enjoy them! The stories are actually pretty enjoyable and unique for what they are. Gabby Bear was the knockoff version of Teddy Ruxpin released in the 80s. They eventually got sued and he was soon taken off shelves. www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLYHDC856WrrQ2_1L63cu8H-E_i1oB2HrI

I just picked up a Gabby and was quite pleased to find that he works perfectly. A while back I had done quite a bit of work to get a Gabby with his mechanism in pieces to partially function - mouth working but not the eyes as the levers operating same had broken and only some of the remnants were still inthere when I opened him. And I did find all 10 tapes as well a bit back, which was really quite a find as these seem to be quite scarce. In comparing these to Gabby Bears, however, it is interesting to note that there are variations in these guys. The below photos show that the ears are positioned differently. There are also minor variations in the setup of the tape player/board box, with the battery slot in opposite positions between the two, although still the same basic player. While my initial plan was to open the second Gabby and hope the mechanism was wholly intact to be able to fabricate eye levers for the first, with this second one in such excellent shape that will not be happening. The rule of "If it ain't broek, don't fix it" has to apply.

They are both lovely, but I think the one above (black volume wheel) is a little cuter!
I think that look is common for that version of Gabby Bear.
That one we can call the "1st gen". Because I think he is older than the one with the shiny sticker. The later renamed version, "My Talking Bear", was the shiny sticker version (2nd gen) with the tag changed.

The "black" magic button is simply due to the fact the sticker sometimes falls off over the years.

I have seen one where the plastic shape on the wheel is different. i1.ytimg.com/vi/aOunTlca3Us/hqdefault.jpgEven there are variations in layout of the cassette player and battery compartment!

I know it has been a good few years since this was uploaded, but the playlist link seems to be completely dead. Any chance of a reupload?
