I hope all Teddy fans have an excellent 2009... and thank you for your continued patronage of this board. When I'm at a low time in my life, as I am now, getting on here and having even the briefest of chats with a fellow fan can perk me right up.
It's been quite a year, hasn't it? We'll leave the troubles that the world brought to us in 2008 behind in this conversation, though, and focus on something positive- 2008 was a wonderful year for Teddy Ruxpin. There are always rumors of new products (and after over half a decade going by with absolutely no chatter I'd say that's very promising) Teddy's 25th anniversary is coming up soon and he's still in production. Costco was added to the list of retailers that are selling Teddy in 2008... and perhaps most importantly, our petitions and letters and prayers were finally answered in 2008 when The Adventures of Teddy Ruxpin - all 65 episodes- finally came to DVD.
I hope 2009 holds vastly different outcomes for most of the things in my life and in the world.. but I hope everything going right for Teddy continues on the same path.
Happy New Year Everyone! Josh

I foresee great things coming in the future despite the hardships that were chaotically flung into our path with childish disregard. With all the problems we have faced, we are still standing proud and flexing the new-found muscle we gained from the influx of new fans and those who have kept the fires bright. 2009 will be awesome BUT only if we remain TRue. Keep the faith and dare those dreams. I look forward to working with all of you in this new year.

and perhaps most importantly, our petitions and letters and prayers were finally answered in 2008 when The Adventures of Teddy Ruxpin - all 65 episodes- finally came to DVD. The release of the dvd boxes by Mill Creek surely was a hightlight of 2008. Personnaly I hope to see this ever be surpassed by a release of my beloved Dutch dub of the show, but as far as I know there aren't any plans. But nevertheless the US dvd's are amazing. I finally got my copies last month, so as promised, I would love to review a few episodes for the episode guide. A happy newyear too to all of you guys!

All I can say is that in 2008, one of my childhood dreams came true.
I had hoped for years that Teddy would make a comeback. "Guests of the Grunges" and "Escape from Treacherous Mountain" were the only TR episodes I had seen, as I wasn't even a year old when the show ran the first time. To have all 65 episodes on DVD is a dream I never thought would be realized.
Finding this website made it even better. Most of the other TR websites I've been to have either stopped updating or even shut down all together. To finally have an active TR-based site and board is thrilling, and I hope that it stays here for the long run.
Here's to our Teddy, and a brand new year!

Thank you all for your comments and well wishes for the new year. One thing that a couple of you brought up in the discussion was the need for an active TR site. There are currently only two that I know of.... my own and Mathue's Teddy Ruxpin FAQ. I have been at it 11 years now, and I've seen several other sites come and go - mainly, IMO, because the webmasters (most of whom were about my age) grew up and went on to other things. I've been fortunate enough to keep the kid in me alive and although my time is sometimes small, the fire inside me that inspires me to share my positive experiences with these characters has never died. With that being said, time will always be a factor- and I appreciate those of you who have already done so and those of you who have offered to help with the site in any regard. I think eventually this site will and should become a community run resource with myself acting simply as a moderator. Internet technology is moving swiftly in that direction.
With that being said, I'm planning on some big things for the site for 2009, money and time allowing. I'm looking forward to all of you being a part of it.
Josh

I know I'm a little late here, but I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year.
I'm so glad to see how many people have helped keep this board and site active, and how many new fans have joined the fold. I hope to enjoy much more of Teddy with all of you in the coming year!
Take care all!

Josh, I should have more free time after class this next semester, so I'll try to write up some more TR episode summaries, including the live action pilot.
Are you still planning to do book summaries, 'cause I got a huge lot of TR books for Christmas. I love my mom so much. :3

Kayla-
Sounds great... I am in the process of burning the live action pilot to DVD so I can get some screencaps. Your input on that and some more episodes would be wonderful. In addition, I am planning on doing a big summer update during my summer vacation in May/June when I hope to tackle the book reviews. I want to do WOW/Playskool/Yes with the cover art from each edition (hopefully) and then a seperate section for the BackPack editions which have updated artwork and a few stories have been remastered. Would love yours and anyone else's help on this.

I can get you some scans of the Playskool books. Right off hand, I know I own "The Airship," "Quiet Please," "Lost in Boggley Woods," and "The Mushroom Forest" for that particular series.

Josh,
What will you be doing about the BackPack Toys alterations to "The Airship", "The Missing Princess", etc.? Will you have separate summaries for the different versions? Or will you simply have footnotes/subheadings for the changes and additions to the BackPack Toys versions?
Just curious. I have about 30+ WoW books and all the current BP Toys stories, so I'm all up for book summaries and any more episode summaries you may need.
Let me know what you'd like, and I'll do my best to oblige! I think I can speak for many of us in that respect!
