Heya everyone! Im John and after many of my friends recommended I join the forums I finally decided to do so. Some of you may know me as KmartandCECFan2298 on IG and YT. But anyways Im a semi-new fan/collector of WoW toys (Started around the end of May 2016) and Id say my collecting and interest has grown quite well! I main interest started out with Teddy Ruxpin, then I expanded into Mother Goose! Although my love for Teddy Ruxpin is still holding strong, I have grown to like Mother Goose more than Teddy. I feel like her stories are well developed and HIGHLY underrated. I do however have a fair amount of knowledge Thanks to some of my friends and overall research, So I wont be Mother Goose all the time. After all, I don't see any Mother Goose forums coming anytime soon! But yeah, That's just a bit about me and my experience with Teddy Ruxpin and such, So I hope to post some good content every now-and-then. Also, Feel free to check out my Mother Goose videos, Im quite proud of them www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gw9ITZeZdK4 www.youtube.com/watch?v=hs9oyatLyHowww.youtube.com/watch?v=g2u1JWnA6sU

I just got into these WoW toys in 2016 myself (why I am "late2theparty"), seeing a Teddy in a television show that had me wondering if my daughter's that had been put away decades ago still worked. He didn't. But with encouragement and help from Dr. Eeyore (a truly great lady) I fixed him myself and have since repaired quite a few. These both came from family members who wanted their's fixed, and some I got online. trying to repair the original Grubby was quite an ordeal. I had almost given up on him after tearing him completely down and had actually purchased another online. But he presented a challenge and I did get him working again with a little advice. I've managed to acquire almost all of the books and tapes. I also have a Mother Goose (not the turning neck type) and Hector. She cracks me up with the clipped matronly voice punctuated with the periodic HONK HONK! I have a working Mickey (more difficult to repair than Teddy) but no Goofy yet. And just today I got a Pamela to speak! Still not sure what those gizmos in her face are supposed to do as they seem to do nothing. But I'll figure it out. Baby Teddy that I discussed here a while back was almost abandoned, but after some thought I got him going too. Quite an interesting repair as I had to do some point to point wiring due to corrosion on the board.
Even though the electronics in these guys might be considered less than complex by today's standards, it still is quite fascinating and challenging to work with to me. You never know when you will run into some unusual problem in getting these guys back to life. But another aspect that I find impressive is just how well done were the stories. It seems that a lot of production value went into these tapes. The stories are well written, the songs well done, and almost each story has some educational value for kids. And the Mother Goose and Mickey Mouse stories are as well done too.
Anyway, glad to see I am not alone in developing a late interest in these toys. But then as a friend said when I posted some photos of a Teddy in progress online, "For some strange reason, I envy you."
