I'm just full of these new topics, aren't I?
Okay, can someone tell me just what color Fuzz is supposed to be? He switches between purple and green almost on an episodic basis, and I can't tell which is his actual color.

That is a mighty good question... I'm very impressed with your eye for detail. I'm a tad surprised in ten years we've never discussed this before, as everything from the colors in the Airbag to Grubby's eyes being green or blue has been discussed.
I own the Fuzz used in the Live Action movie, he sits right here to my left as I type, very purple. Fuzz in the book "Take a Good Look" that's also to my left is very green. I will make a note to ask Ken about this the next time we talk. Have we noticed the difference in the books as well or just the TV series? If it's a TV series thing I'd chalk it up to the fact two different animation teams worked on episodes (which is also why you can have a perfectly normal looking Teddy in one episode and one that looks like a pear in the next episode) If it's in the Adventure series too I'd wager that it's done simply to show that Fobs are capable of changing colors due to the rainbow falls effect.

Fuzz definitely came off as purple in the first episodes, but later he remained green rather consistently. The story arc featuring "The Third Crystal" and so on show him as green, and that's the color I've always attributed to Fuzz. However, I also agree with Josh on the notion that Fobs' colors change as a result of drinking Rainbow Falls water. That's talking strictly story-wise. In actuality I'm sure it wasn't considered to be that big of an issue as the voice was all you really needed to know that this Fob was Fuzz (and the fact that other characters called him by name).
I thought it odd that Fuzz doesn't talk in the first few episodes (such as "Take a Good Look") but later becomes rather loquacious. Fuzz is possibly the cutest character in the series, in my opinion. What a depth this world has to it. Great question, and I look forward to seeing everyone's opinion on this.

I thought that green was the accepted color, but I couldn't be sure. It does make sense that they would be able to change color, since the Rainbow Falls constantly changes color as it flows.
Fuzz is cute though. I especially liked the attitude he was given in "The Third Crystal."

The first time I saw "The Third Crystal" I remember laughing like crazy because of how great the bantering was between Tweeg and Fuzz. It's still one of my favorite episodes because of that.

I remember laughing pretty hard when I first saw it.
Fuzz is practically LB in Fob form.

I love that L.B. never really held any allegiance to Tweeg other than his pending paycheck and actually got on pretty well with the Trio and Fuzz and other "good guys". That, of course, becomes more prevalent towards the end when he sets Teddy free, but I like how that seed is planted early on.
L.B. is another character that was so brilliantly realized. He never came across quite the same in the books, but he was absolutely perfect in the series. Classic.

Digging up an old thread to answer the same question. What's funny is in Ep. 6 Take a Good Luck, Fuzz is erroneously painted purple when chasing the gang. (And was it too scary to give him lines?) but in Episode 65 - The Mystery Unravels, there is a flashback of the same scene and Fuzz is recolored green.

I can't say anything about Fuzz's color but have a theory about him not having lines early on. I thought it was because he was a baby who hadn't learned to talk yet. In the book, "Take A Good Look," he babbles like a baby and is established to be quite young. The way he acts reminds me of a young kitten. "Uncle Grubby" is a real turning point for Fuzz. He's grown up enough to be really currious about the world and asking all kinds of questions. By the book, "The Third ⠠⠉⠗⠽⠌⠁⠇⠂⠴ he only partially remembers the previous adventure with the Reducing Machine. In the cartoon, this is where his character is fully solidified. He's much more than just another Fob and certainly no longer the baby he once was.
