I'm really sorry if this is the wrong section for this post - I wasn't sure if the "stolen"-looking mouth part on this wannabe bear qualified it for the General Stuff section, instead of Off Topic. If I've gotten it wrong, please move it to the right place! Anyway, I just found this guy whilst browsing the US arm of eBay, and, well, I've never seen anything like it before. I've previously heard of another "T.T." bear that had a microphone and looked different to this, but this T.T. looks sort of like a freakish gene-splicing experiment with Teddy Ruxpin and Gabby Bear's DNA! (Just in case anyone is interested, at the time of writing the auction is still live here - he ends in just over one day, and has no bids.) (Image borrowed from eBay)Apparently he was made by a company called Pioneer Toys. Does anyone know anything about this one, such as what the tapes are like, and how the animation looks?

Very odd. I've seen the one with the microphone, but I've never seen this one.

Gotta love the Teddy Ruxpin knock offs! This is one of them! Note the eyes are similar to Ruxpin's, only more psychotic!
There were quite a few Ruxpin knock off toys floating around and a new batch was always made after a new Generation of Teddy Ruxpin was released.

Lol I have the one with the microphone. He's kinda cool. When you talk in the microphone he'll move his mouth and eyes to what you say. Also he'll play regular tapes, gabby bear tapes, and tt bear tapes. I have the English and Italian tape for him.

I actually owned this bear as a child. I have very fond/scary memories as a child. I actually came across this forum looking for this bear! Thank you for the photo, and it's a shame I didn't find it sooner. I could have purchased the bear.

Oh, wow, I didn't expect to ever hear from anyone who owned one of these! I'm glad I saved the photo from the auction, now. I don't suppose you could tell us some more about him, could you, please?

Basically in the T.T. Talking Bear cassette tape T.T. introduces himself and tells you what he does, etc. It's pretty cute.

I've just got home, headed to bed and found my old bear sat here. My mum has found him in the loft and bought him to me. A Google search later and Im here... Fond memories of my bear as a child. I know now my parents couldn't afford a real Teddy Ruxpin so I got the knock off but he was very much loved and obviously cared for. I certainly didn't know the difference as a toddler! He's still in fab condition. I'll be buying batteries tomorrow to see if he still works! I can still hear his tape in my head now!! Wow! What a trip down memory lane!

Just do not mix up the tapes! My grandmother had two or three different types of bears. A Teddy Ruxpin, Gabby Bear and This one. If the tapes got confused, they did funny things.

What do the TT tapes look like? I don't think I've ever seen one.

Huh, that's pretty spiffy. You can tell that they were trying to evoke the same look of the box that Teddy came in. Uber adorable art, though. Kind of reminds me of Sanrio's art style.
Welcome to the forums, by the way! Hope you enjoy your stay!
