The Great Grundo Rescue
The Illiop Colony
The Illiop Colony
Cast of characters: TMNT, Little Ponies, Mutant Fellowship, Felicia Utav, Jack W. Tweeg, Teddy Ruxpin, Grubby, Newton Gimmick, Spike, Grundle King.
Guest Stars: Illiops, Amber, Grandma Ursa, Stratadons, Prince Arin, Princess Aruzia, Wooly What’s-It, Leota, Stratadons, Grunges, Ickly Bognostroclum.
Locations: Moss Forest, Illiop Colony, Grunge village.
Vehicles: Airship, Turtle Blimp.
As we left off, one group went to the Wizard of Grundo but Majesty and Lucky were kidnapped by Stratadons whom are working for the Witch of Crimson Mountain. Meanwhile, the group made up of Leonardo, Teddy and the rest are making it through the dense, thick Moss Forest. Leonardo cuts away the plants with his katana swords, Stella uses her claws, Raphael uses his sais and Luna chomps them off with her teeth.
Weaver: Are we almost there?
Grubby: I’m with him, my feet are getting tired.
Gimmick: We should be nearing very, er-uh soon, boys.
As Leonardo cuts another handful of vines, Teddy gets on a big rock and sees over the hill a village surrounded by a big stone wall and large wooden doors.
Teddy: Look! I see it!
Skippity-Doo: Is that the Illiop colony?
Teddy: It has to be. I just know it.
They continue on, cutting away many more plants until finally getting to the large doors.
Luna: Crikey, how’re we gonna get in?
Leonardo: Spooky and North Star can just fly over.
Raphael: I say Stella and Weaver go in first ‘cause Stella can climb with her razor-sharp claws, plus Weaver can stick to solid surfaces.
Teddy: Wouldn’t it be easier just to knock?
Leonardo: Yeah, you’re right.
Raphael sarcastically: Oh sure, take the subtle approach.
Teddy gets on North Star as she flies him up to the giant doorknocker. Teddy lifts and releases it, making a loud sound as the Pegasus and Illiop land back on the ground.
Grubby: Well, no one’s home. Let’s go.
But before he can head back, a large cage drops on the group, trapping them.
Leonardo: Look out!
Buttons: It’s a trap!
Gimmick: Indeed, (looking through magnifying glass) this cage was put together by er-uh bamboo and twine produced from uh alpacapi hair.
Raphael: Gee, thanks, I really needed to know this thing’s structure.
The doors open to darkness and bright glowing eyes.
Felicia: Maybe they’re harmless?
That’s when a Tiki-like creature with sharp teeth comes out at the heroes, most of them back away.
Leonardo: What is that thing?
Gimmick: I have er no clue.
Stella and Luna stand their ground with the cat extending her claws and her tail all puffed up, and the gator bearing her teeth.
Stella: (Growling, hissing)
The Tiki creature then notices Teddy, removing the mask and revealing to be an Illiop.
Teddy: Hey, it’s an Illiop.
They relax as the Illiop turns to the doors.
Illiop: Oh! Come on out, everyone!
Several more Illiops appear at the doors and come out of their houses, they all come to greet the visitors as they lift the cage back up.
Illiop #1: Oh, we’ve waited so long for another of our kind to return us to the Hard-to-Find-City.
Grubby: I’m somewhat confused.
Illiop #1: Come into our colony and we will explain.
The heroes follow the Illiops into the village where they explain everything.
Illiop #1: You see, when our ancestors settled here after the Gutangs usurped the Hard-to-Find-City, they grew large thick plants to keep intruders out. Particularly Gutangs.
Leonardo: That also explains the cage.
Illiop #2: Yes, we didn’t want to take any chances if someone were
actually successful in getting through the vegetation.
Illiop #3: The only ones that were able to enter are Wogglies and Fobs. For they’re small enough to get past the plants and squeeze under the wall.
Grubby: Though, what’s this about returning to the Hard-to-Find-City?
Illiop #1: An old prophecy states that Theodore the Wise’s direct descendant will return all Seven Crystals to the Hard-to-Find-City, restore peace to all of Grundo and return the Illiop colonies to their original home.
Sometime soon, Teddy comes upon a statue of Theodore the Wise, with Leonardo, Stella, Grubby and Gimmick beside him.
Leonardo: So, this is Theodore the Wise.
Stella: Hey Teddy, are you and him related?
Teddy: We are, Stella, he was my great-great grandfather.
Leonardo: I can see the family resemblance.
Teddy: And now that you mention it, my medallion half has been in my family for generations. As well as the Grundo map.
Grubby: Do you think you’re the one they’re talking about, Teddy?
Gimmick: Indeed, it uh seems to fit in place, my boy.
As Teddy ruffles and pets Stella, an old lady Illiop comes by.
Teddy: Me? Restore the Hard-to-Find-City? Nah.
Old lady: Fantasy can become reality if you keep dreaming and have patience and confidence.
Grubby: Really? Interesting.
They see an Illiop girl about Teddy’s age coming to the old lady whom is her grandmother. This Illiop girl is albino (white fur and pink eyes) with really long blonde hair tied in a braid, she wears a green tank-top, lavender skirt and bright blue sandals.
Girl: Grandma, I’ve been looking everywhere for you. (to others) Oh, you must all be the newcomers.
Gimmick: Oh indeed, we are, uh-uh my dear.
Amber: Well, I’m Amber, this is my grandmother, Ursa.
Leonardo: Glad to meet you, Amber, I’m Leonardo, they’re Stella, Grubby, Gimmick and…
Before he can finish, Teddy is love-struck by Amber, blushing and smiling, also little hearts flying around his head.
Teddy: Hi, my name is Teddy Ruxpin.
Amber: Hey Teddy, I’m Amber.
Grubby: Uh-oh, direct hit, Cupid.
Stella: Good thing Felicia’s not here.
Teddy to Amber: You… wanna get together later?
Amber and her grandma leave as Teddy is still in his romance trance.
Teddy: (Sighs) Amber, what a lovely name.
Stella: I wonder how the others are doing.
At that time, Felicia, Spike, Luna and Spooky are touring around the place, they come to the paddock where alpacapis are kept. Though, these are rather unusual-looking creatures from Spooky’s perspective; the fluffy coats, long neck and face of an alpaca and the striped legs, horns and prehensile tongue of okapis.
Spooky: Are these alpacapis?
Felicia: Yeah, my uncle had a few of these.
A few alpacapis come to them, Felicia immediately pets one and scratches it behind the ear.
Spike: They don’t bite, do they?
Felicia: Oh no, but, careful anyway…
Before Spooky can pet one, it spits on him, the mutant bat is covered in thick, gooey saliva.
Felicia: They spit.
Spooky sarcastically: Thanks for the warning.
The herder comes by to the foursome.
Herder: Hey, would you folks like to feed the alpacapis?
Spooky: Eh, maybe later, right now, you know where there’s a shower and washer and dryer I can use?
Herder: That way. (points east)
He leaves to get cleaned up as the herder gives Felicia, Spike and Luna a handful of food each. As Felicia feeds one, it eats right out of her hands, Luna lifts Spike up on her shoulders as the gator stands upright, they each feed an alpacapi.
Spike: (Pets alpacapi with free hand) They’re so soft.
Herder: Oh yeah, we raise ‘em for their hair is great for making fabrics and twine.
Felicia: Ah, my aunt used to knit with yarn made from alpacapi hair.
Herder: Say, you’re real good with animals.
Felicia: Oh yeah, I’ve always considered myself good with animals.
That’s when some Illiops begin playing music as a means of celebrating the arrival of Teddy and the gang. Amber starts dancing to it.
Felicia: All right, a party!
North Star joins Amber as the two gather more of their friends, first Amber gets Leonardo, North Star gets Stella, Amber gets Grubby who grabs onto Gimmick, Felicia and Spike, Amber gets Buttons.
(Music increases, rhythmic clapping)
Until all of the heroes are dancing to the music with some of the citizens. At first Raphael declines, but Spooky (whom just got his clothes cleaned) pushes his over, he ends up joining.
He also joins in, and even Raphael gets into it. Everyone does a square dance style with girls to girls and boys to boys, when switching off, Amber and Teddy try to dance with each other but they end up getting taken by Spooky and Luna, respectively. Felicia and the other young Illiops make a mural of some sort with chalk on the town square, it looks like the Crystals alignment with silhouettes of Illiops and alpacapis in rainbow colors, Stella even adds her paw-prints then gets a kiss on the nose by a young Illiop.
The baker tosses two freshly made cupcakes towards Stella and Luna, the two mutants leap up acrobatically and catch them in their mouths.
Everyone does more dancing when Teddy and Amber finally get together, the music ceases as they embrace.
Felicia: Wow. I can’t remember when I’ve had so much fun.
Spike: Yeah. I wonder if everything’s going as smoothly with the others as it is for us.
At that time, in the grunge village, Joey and the unicorns are minding their own business, even mingling with the grunges.
Joey: And when I came back to the warehouse to face off against the bullies, it was then the demolition team had come to tear down the place.
Manfred: Aw man, that’s like not cool.
Joey: I was able to help the bullies escape with some help from the Fellowship and Turtles. But it was then I realized I sunk to the same level as the bullies who picked on me. So, thanks to the Fellowship and Ninja Turtles, I learned to use my new form more responsibly.
Jeanie: Wow, Joey man, some story.
Trina: Don’t you ever miss being a human?
Joey: Sometimes, I do kinda miss being able to run normally.
Jodi: How come you can’t?
Joey: You try running a marathon with these. (holds up big foot) But there are some pluses, like being able to jump for miles and standing on my tail is awesome for fighting off bad guys.
And speaking of which, a flock of Stratadons fly above them, everyone notices.
Grunge leader: What are those things?
The Stratadons dive towards the village.
Joey: You all make a run for it, I’ll try to hold ‘em off!
Stratadons: (Screeching and roaring)
The grunges and unicorns run off as Joey tries to hold off the Stratadons, he stands on his tail and kicks them with his feet. Even clawing at them with his paws.
Even with the grunges’ help, the Stratadons swoop in and capture the unicorns one by one either scooping them in their front claws or grabbing them by their manes.
As another Stratadon captures Speedy, Joey hops up and grabs the Stratadon by the tail.
Joey: Hey! You let her go, ya scaly walnut-brain!
But another Stratadon pounces and slides him across the ground before taking off again. Manfred and Jethro help him up, Joey has a cut on his lip.
Manfred: Hey dude, are you all right?
Joey: (Heavy breathing) Yeah, I think so.
They see the Stratadons fly away with the unicorns.
Grunge leader: We’ll never catch up to ‘em now.
Joey: Aw man, some help I was.
Jana Lee: Like, don’t blame yourself, man. There were too many of them, we were outnumbered and you were outmatched.
Just then, Donatello and his group show up.
Michelangelo: Whoa like, what happened?
Phoebe: And what happened to you, Joey?
Joey: Flying lizard dudes called Stratadons came, they kidnapped the unicorns. I tried to hold them off.
Manfred: Yeah like, we tried to stop ‘em but they were too big, strong and could fly.
Blazer: Yeah, same thing happened when we went to see the Wizard, Stratadons kidnapped Majesty and Lucky.
Ida: My wing was hurt in the process.
Donatello: Don’t worry guys, we’ll save our friends. Somehow.
Though, we should warn Leonardo and the others of this.
Joey: You’re right. To the Illiop colony.
Blazer: Pheebs and I can find it by picking up the others’ scent.
Grunge leader: Good luck, you guys.
Jeanie: Yeah, be careful.
Donatello: Thanks, we’ll need all the luck we can get.
The heroes depart from the village with Blazer and Phoebe leading the way as the grunges wave good-bye. As the sunsets on the Illiop colony, Teddy and Amber get together at a large fountain.
Teddy: Ohh, what a beautiful fountain.
Amber: Yeah. I used to come here all the time growing up.
Teddy: Amber, do you have any brothers or sisters?
Amber: Nope, I’m an only child.
Teddy: Really? So am I.
They sit on the fountain edge, Teddy puts his hand in the fountain making ripples.
Teddy: I guess I’ve always been a tad different from other Illiops, the Illiops of Rillonia don’t really like to stray too far from home. I’m the first in generations to leave Rillonia.
Amber: I’ve never even been outside the colony walls. I’ve always been more than just different from others, I’ve always felt like the odd one out.
Teddy: Why’s that?
Amber: Every other Illiop is a lovely shade of brown and have brown, green, blue or even purple eyes while my fur is dead white and I have pink eyes.
As a Woggley comes by and sits on Amber’s lap, she cuddles him as Teddy puts a gentle hand on Amber’s shoulder.
Teddy: Hey, I learned long ago that you should never be ashamed of who you are. It’s just as hurtful to be hard on yourself as it is to be hard on others.
Woggley: He’s right, Amber. Don’t be sad, what you look like really isn’t at all bad.
He stands and breaks into song.
I like Being Myself
I’m more like me than anybody I know
I Like being Myself
I’m always around wherever I go
I never have to wonder where I am or what I’ll do
and I must admit I’ve got a lot
in common with me too
I guess that’s why I’m happy being I
Yes I like being myself
I like being myself
I suppose I would be you if I were you
and if you were me then you could be me too
Amber: I see
That wouldn’t be so bad but what we’ve got is OK
It’s less confusing anyway
I like being myself
I like being myself
I like being myself
As the song ends, he picks a flower and gives it to Amber. She becomes smitten by him as he sits back down. Meanwhile, the others have made it through the forest and find the colony over the hill.
Tweeg: Is that the place?
Blazer: Yup, my nose doesn’t tell lies.
Phoebe: Same here.
L.B.: Then let’s go.
They go to the giant doors and Wooly uses the door knocker. An Illiop above the gate appears and sees them.
Illiop: Who goes there?
Donatello: Friends of Teddy Ruxpin, we must warn him and the Turtle Leonardo of great danger.
Illiop: Well, any friend of Teddy Ruxpin is an ally to us.
The doors open as the others enter. Back with Teddy and Amber, they sit beside each other by the fountain.
Teddy: Well, my point is everyone’s special in their own way. Like me, I’m more adventurous than most other Illiops I know.
Amber: What is Grundo like?
Teddy: Well, most of the places are really pretty, like Mizley Meadow and Rainbow Falls. Also the people from King Nogbert’s kingdom, they’ll really like you, especially our friends Prince Arin and Princess Aruzia.
Amber: It does sound really nice.
They lean forward to kiss but before they can, the Stratadons show up!
That’s when the others arrive on the scene.
Teddy: Donatello, what’s going on?
Donatello: It’s the Stratadons!
The Stratadons all fly down towards the village, cutting away at the big tree branches they hide the colony from above.
Tweeg: Hurry, run for it!
The Grundonians run off with Teddy and Amber as the TMNT and Mutant Fellowship try to hold off the Stratadons. As Skippity-Doo ducks to avoid being grabbed by a Stratadon, one Stratadon with Ickly Bognostroclum riding it appears.
Ickly: Seize them!
Stratadons: (Screeching & roaring)
One Stratadon swoops in and captures Buttons in its back claws.
Buttons: Ohh! Help!
Spooky tries flying up to save her but is knocked back by the Stratadon. Another even swoops in and captures Amber.
Amber: (Screams) Help!
Ickly: You are all doomed! Soon all of Grundo will belong to the Witch of Crimson Mountain.
Stratadons: (Screeching and roaring)
In spite of the Turtles’ and Fellowship’s efforts, the Stratadons do a great amount of damage as well as capturing Buttons and Amber.
Stella sarcastically: Well this is just great.
Ida: Really, first the Stratadons capture Majesty and Lucky at the Wizard’s place…
Joey: And they took the rest of the unicorns from the Grunge village…
Felicia: And now they kidnap Buttons and Amber here.
Luna: Too right, not to mention doin’ heaps damage.
Grubby: What do we do now?
Leonardo: There’s only one thing to do, we have to go to Crimson Mountain and save our friends.
Teddy: He’s right, I must save Amber. Who knows what the witch has in store for her?
Ursa: Please, save my granddaughter.
Teddy: You have my word, Ursa.
Spike: Well, then let’s get going!
TMNT: Go Green Machine!
As the rescue party treks back to the airship and Turtle Blimp…
Joey: Was Amber the name of the white Illiop that was with you?
Teddy: Yeah, she’s not just white, she’s albino.
Raphael sing-song: Teddy and Amber sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G.
Teddy: Shut up!
Tweeg joining in: First comes love, then comes marriage.
Raphael/Tweeg: Then comes Teddy with a baby carriage.
Teddy: (Annoyed sigh)
Felicia: Yeach, gross, love! Kissing, ptooey!
Stella: Don’t mind her, she’s never thought highly of romance.
The rescue party makes it out of the Moss forest and through the Jungle With No Name.
Donatello: That reminds me, was that Ickly Bognostroclum on one of the Stratadons?
Tweeg: Sure was, I’d recognize him anywhere.
Ida: And now that I think about it, I could’ve swore I saw someone familiar on the Stratadon who attacked me at the Wizard’s place.
Joey: Yeah, I thought I saw a familiar face when one Stratadon pounded me to the ground.
Michelangelo: Well, what’d they look like?
Ida: I didn’t get a clear view, but the one who I saw kinda looked like a rhino.
Joey: And, I’m not positive, but the one I saw looked like a warthog.
It’s there that the TMNT and Mutant Fellowship put the two together.
TMNT/Mutant Fellowship: Rocksteady and Bebop!
Grubby: Folks you know?
Stella: Yeah, they’re the bumbling henchmen of our nemesis the Shredder.
Donatello: I think the Witch hired them ‘cause they know us better than anyone at M.A.V.O.
Leonardo: Well, whatever the reason, we won’t give up without a fight.
Joey: You said it.
The group gets to the airship and the Turtle Blimp.
Teddy: Grubby, Gimmick and I’ll take the airship.
Gimmick: Anyone else er-uh interested in taking the airship?
Leonardo: The Turtles and I’ll take the Turtle Blimp.
Donatello: Whoever would like to take the Turtle Blimp, please step forward.
Those who take the airship consist of Wooly whom still has Ida, L.B., Felicia, Arin, Aruzia, the Grundle King, Gingerbread, Skippity-Doo and Weaver. While the Turtles, Tweeg, Spike and Joey take the Turtle Blimp, the Fellowship leaders ride the Pegasi as Leota and Spooky fly.
Leonardo: All right, let’s go!
As they take off into the air, Ida sees Crimson Mountain in the distance with her super vision.
Ida: I see Crimson Mountain up ahead.
Grubby: (Looking through binoculars) She’s right, it’s right next to M.A.V.O. H.Q.
Gimmick: Then that’s where er-uh we’re heading.
Grundle King: That where we find Majesty.
Wooly: Brr, Majesty means a lot to you, doesn’t she, Grundle King?
Grundle King: Uh-huh. She and I rule over Dream Castle together, she and I like Felicia and Tweeg. Best friends till very end.
Leota comes by and stand on the Grundle King's shoulder.
Leota: Aw, that’s so sweet. But don’t worry, Grundle King, we’ll save her.
They head northeast above the Jungle With No Name. L.B. hops up to the front but ends up bumping against Felicia.
Felicia: (Pointing to L.B.) He bumped against me!
L.B.: Did not!
Felicia: Did too!
L.B.: Did not!
Felicia/Skippity-Doo: Did too!
L.B. to Skippity-Doo: You keep out of this!
Felicia: Hey, don’t talk to her like that!
L.B.: You’re not the boss of me!
Teddy: That’s enough, you guys!
L.B.: She started it!
Felicia: Did not!
L.B.: Did too!
Felicia: Did not!
L.B.: Did too!
The Grundle King gets in-between them.
Grundle King: Grundle-Nuff! Arguing not helping, only wasting time. Both of you apologize.
Felicia/L.B. grouchily: Sorry.
Arin: Not terribly sincere.
Weaver: But hopefully, that’s the end of their arguing.
L.B. and Felicia go in the opposite direction from each other. But that doesn’t stop their arguing much to everyone’s annoyance.
L.B.: Zucchini face.
Felicia: Potato nose.
L.B.: Rainbow asparagus.
Felicia: Saw-toothed moron.
Teddy: Oh brother.
Aruzia: I knew it was too good to be true.
The heroes continue to fly off towards Crimson Mountain as the sun is close to setting.
In our next adventures, the Witch decides to sell Amber and Lucky to the Ying Zoo since she has no other use for them. When she sics the Stratadons on us, we learn why the Witch wants the unicorns so badly. It’s an all-out magic war as we try to save our friends, stay tuned for the exciting conclusion.
