I finally worked up the nerve to say 'hello' and bring a bit of art. So...hello! ^^ And some art: Tweeg eventually grew into his ears. Anyway, years ago, ever since I saw the episode where the surf grunges talk about Tweeg as a kid, I tried to picture what he might be like. I imagined a scrawny little brat with scratched-up knees who was always getting into some kind of trouble. But I also thought it'd be nice if he had a friend, too. That's when Janey showed up in my head. Her parents are surf grunges, too, so it's anyone's guess where this whole 'reading books' thing came from with her. She's quiet and painfully shy and sort of an odd duck all around, as far as grunges go. Lately she's been active again (oh OC's, why so demanding?) and finally I had to draw them together just to shut her up for a while. And this has gone on way too long. Please forgive my rambling. I hope you enjoy.

Thank you again! Oh, and I dusted off an old DevArt account I've had for a couple of years. Figured I may as well use it for my TR stuff. littlecelticcross.deviantart.com/Hope you don't mind if I watch you? ^^

Welcome!
Your artwork is awesome. Exactly what Tweeg would have looked like as a kid!
Personally I would imagine he'd have been a little bit more of a loner and a bit more of a mean spirited junior troll grunge than just one that was rambunctious.. but it's an interesting interpretation of the character as well... maybe he started out that way and grew more bitter with time. I'd imagine him in his late 20's or early 30's during the TV/Book storyline so there was certainly time for that.
Welcome aboard and please continue to post! as Kayla says, we love it when new additions to the family arrive.

Not at all! I just added you to my watch list, in fact!
I suppose that Tweeg's personality would depend on when, exactly, Elroy walked out on him and Elanore. I can't remember what the Surf Grunges said about when Elroy left.
Personally, I think it's a miracle that Tweeg ended up as stable as he is. Makes you wonder how different Tweeg might've turned out had Elroy actually stuck around and did his job as a father. Elroy may have been the best surfer, but he was an absolute failure at being a parent.

Personally I would imagine he'd have been a little bit more of a loner and a bit more of a mean spirited junior troll grunge than just one that was rambunctious.. Oh I agree, but I like to think that there was a short period when he was very young, when he COULD have been a sweet boy. They're about about six years old in that pic I drew. In my story (which I may draw out because I'm terrible at prose), Tweeg and Janey only knew each other for one summer. When Elroy left, Eleanor took their son and went away, too. He hasn't seen Janey since. (I also put him in his late 20's/early 30's at the time of the show, so it's been 20+ years.) Losing both his dad and his only friend in such a short span of time was sort of the beginning of his path to being a mean-spirited loner. Guh, apologies; I'm a sucker for fluff and I like to explore the softer side of characters, if I can find it. (I don't always find it, but I try. LOL) I hope no one minds. Anyway, thank you once again for the warm welcome. I'm very happy to be here.

2 to 6 years old was my favorite time in life... in large part thanks to Teddy.. and it's a little heartwarming to think of Tweeg at that age before life taught him to be an unsuccessful villain.. Nobody minds at all when we have discussions about the nature of the characters... you will find here even when we disagree we do it with a smile... I personally enjoy seeing the various interpretations of things.. it just reinforces what a inspiration Teddy Ruxpin and co. were.

Heh, personally I blame Elanore for how Tweeg turned out.
I don't care who you are, having a mother like her would mess anyone up.

No kidding! Tweeg's song about his mom has a light-hearted tune, but the lyrics are just heartbreaking. D:

It just makes you want to throttle Elroy for abandoning him.

Lovely work, I particularly like the lighting and ambiance. The color palette is warm and inviting, evoking feelings of innocence and youth. I like how you adapted the characters, and made them feel like they fit in the background. I also like how you have taken an established character and brought a new dimension into his history. Wonderful work! (Now after that sounded like a "blurb" from Art Appreciation) Seriously, let's see more of your work because it's just awesome! More Janey plz!
