So what is on the "Love Songs" tape?
Did he write covers or are there some original songs too?

I think the majority of them were cover songs. I think there was a cover of a Rodgers and Hammerstein song in there.

I love almost all the Teddy songs. I've grown up with them, I know most of them by heart. I know all the lullabies, of course. My two favorites are "This Lovely Night" and "Will You Go To Sleep Before I Do?", both of which have been known to bring tears to my eyes.
The first Teddy Ruxpin VHS I owned was "Come Dream With Me Tonight"...a video which showcased a live action Teddy with two children as he sang the lullabies to them, accompanied by the montages from the animated series, most of which I'd never seen before. "This Lovely Night" is the last song on the video, as it is on the cassette, and it features simply a live Teddy singing to the camera. For some reason, this always freaked me out a little, and I used to dislike the song because it felt eerie to me. Now I can appreciate the song for what it is, and it is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.
"Will You Go To Sleep Before I Do?" was never one of my favorites. Of course it is a great song, but I don't think the song really meant as much to me as it did after I saw the episode of the series where Teddy and The Hermit of Leekee Lake are singing it to each other. There are some beautiful harmonies there which are not heard on the cassette, and it is just a beautiful scene. As someone who knows what it is like to find their birth parent and connect in a similar way, through songs or memories that were long forgotten, that scene brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it, and I have forever associated the song with it.
Incidentally, I'd never seen that episode until the DVD releases, so it is just another reason why I recommend those sets to EVERY Teddy fan.

After the DVD releases go out of print, which they will sooner than any of us would like, I'm sure, I am going to press for a company to re-release the exact WoW releases, with the live action Teddy footage and such, including the special version "Come Dream With Me Tonight." These would be particularly good compilations for younger fans who may not have the attention span for the entire 65 episode TV series. I was a pseudo-dad to two kids for a year who met that condition In addition, we need to press for the CD and/or Mp3 release of the Teddy Songs featured on the cassette tapes from the early 90's. I drove across country in January and these kept me company for many miles via a complicated system where I had to run a tape player through my CD player. Having them on CD or Mp3 player would have been much more convenient!

Freedom is a beautiful song, and it's available on youtube. Other songs I like are most if not all the songs on the Lullabies tape, the All About Bears tape, (which I only remember a couple of songs from but remember loving them all), Proud to Be Me and Two Hands Are Better than One (from the Story of the Faded Fobs), Looking Back At Me (from Grubby's Romance), and I'm sure others. As far as I can remember, here's all the songs on the Lovesongs tape. On a related note, was there ever a Lovesongs II?

It's hard to narrow my favorits down but I'll try. "Come Dream With Me Tonight" [tape version], this one is full of nice imagery that makes me happy. "Will You Go To Sleep Before I Do?" is a very relaxing song. "This lovely Night" is also really beautiful. "And I Love You" makes me feel like Teddy's talking just to me, reminding me of all the good in life and myself. I also really like "Let's Sail Away Today" the tape version. Try listening with your eyes closed and you can almost feel the experience of what the song talks about: the wind, the airship bumping along the ground, the sunshine on your face. "Looking Back At Me" is another one, showing the kind of relationship I hope to find someday.
