htucker, you're SUPPOSED TO SCREW IT IN or else it won't play. Don't try porting Teddy's tape player into another Teddy. You'd basically waste 2 Teddys. I would do that, but the problem is that teddy's plugs or cables that plug in to the board are unplugged. I completely forgot which one goes where.

I just ordered another teddy. This time it's the plastic tape player one. I had no idea that the metal one caused those problems. I would of thought the metal one would be better. But hey. Thank you guys all so much for the help.

look for workshop1138, provides everything you need to know about fixing Teddys. Yes. That's exactly who I watched when replacing the pinch roller. One thing that's been bugging me forever now though is the difference between metal tape player teddies and regular white tape player teddies.

Yes. I'm in the U.S. You might have figured out the prob. I don't think I got the right one. Where did you get your pinch roller?

Ok. Well, I put the Lysol in last night. Plus, it had bleach in it. UPDATE: I just went out to the garage to check on him. He seems fine, though he still needs to dry a little bit. But he also smells like bleach. I had done the Lysol thing overnight. Thankfully, I took out all the internals except for the servos. There wasn't much mold on his head. Thank god.

Thats understandable. Maybe if you can fix the tape eating problem, he can still live on in other Teddies! You know, that might actually work.

I haven't completely thrown him away yet. I just threw his vest away. I still have the tape player and the bear itself. Currently, he is soaked with Lysol. The reason I've been freaking out is that some of the Lysol went on my carpet. So now I have pink rings around my carpet. I have to get a brand new carpet.

Thank you guys so much for the help. But I just eventually threw him away. I googled what the orange spots were. They were mold spores. It was pretty nasty. I did however keep the board and the tape player. This sucker had a pretty good life. Although he eats tapes.

Oh god. I was cleaning him earlier and I noticed orange specks of something on his vest and all over him. Is it mold?

Yeah. The tape player part is still unscrewed. That's why it looks like that. I just haven't had time to screw it back in.
I've been thinking. Could I buy a broken teddy ruxpin for parts or repair, and then take the cassette player out of that one and switch it? Do you think that would work? I have the original 1985 wow metal tape version.

Okay. So basically, he won't turn on. He used to. The batteries I just put in were brand new. Nothing happens when I turn him on. I checked the logic board and everything is connected. vid.me/AsaHDoes anyone know if Dr. Eeyore is still around? I've heard really good things about him.

Ok, so I took teddy apart to look at the cassette belt condition. (He keeps eating my tapes. That started after I installed a new pinch roller). I've tried to put him back together. I screwed up big time. Does anyone know who I could contact or send Teddy to for repair? I thought about Dr. Eeyore, but he hasn't been online in a couple years now. I'm in desperate need of help. I just got him yesterday!
