I’ve been out of the teddy ruxpin collecting scene for a while now, and haven’t been on here for ages, so not sure if it’s still very active here or not. I have several teddy ruxpins and a worlds of wonder talking Mickey that I’m needing to unload. I used to be an avid collector and enjoyed repairing them. I have chronic pain issues now and just can’t keep on with the hobby the way I used to. Everything is currentky non functional/partially disassembled and would be good for parting out/animatronic projects (I was gonna make an epic talking fob at one point 😃). Maybe they should just go in the trash, but I just can’t bare to throw it all away. I’d like to give this stuff away for free, just for the cost of shipping (or local pick up I suppose.) I’m just not sure where is the best place to post something like this? I couldn’t find many teddy ruxpin Facebook groups, and I think my local marketplace wouldn’t be very interested in this sort of thing. Any ideas?

Thanks, I'll have to check it out. Studio Sound was what I used too! I bought up a bunch of pinch head rollers before they liquidated it all.

Thanks for the link. I'd be curious to know if these are new or pulled from parted out WOW toys. I know some people sell them like that. I'll have to message the seller for size and type since they don't mention it in the description.

So the place I used to buy my cassette deck belts from online for WOW repairs is going out of business. I'm finding it REALLY difficult to find anyplace online to buy the right size square belts. Can anybody recommend a place?? THANKS!

I just finished disassembling and repairing a Mickey mouse. (Estate sale find for $5 I took a bunch of pics and wrote out some directions if you want to try to repair yourself. He's a lot trickier than teddy ruxpin!

I posted this in off topic where it probably belongs, but I'm really hoping someone has any idea for me.
I recently found a lovely Worlds of Wonder Julie doll in her box with original outfit and book at a garage sale of all places! I am super excited to have found her. Tested her out with new batteries today (she was stored without any thank goodness) The good news is her eyes and mouth are working perfectly! The bad news is there's no sound coming out at all, no matter how much I fiddle with the volume control. Being the naturally curious person I am (and since I've disassembled and repaired many a teddy ruxpin) I went for it and unscrewed her battery cover to take a look at everything. Volume control looks fine, all wires are firmly soldered, molex is connected tightly to the circuit board. I finally figured out how to access the speaker and all wires and solder points look fine there as well. I can get her to talk for random periods of time by shifting the speaker and it's wires around, but can't pinpoint a particular point in the wire where it could be broken or anything.
Many thanks

The bummer part is unlike teddy ruxpin, I don't know how to get to the speaker in her tummy to try and blow some compressed air in it. This lady was the original owner and seems to have taken good care of her. Any advice on how to get her talking again?
Many thanks!

I've never worked on a Hector either, but I have removed the beak of a mother goose. Her beak is attached with a small metal "dowel" through it. I just took a very small Phillips head screwdriver and pushed it in one end until the dowel started to come out the other end of the beak. Then used needle nose pilers to pull it the rest of the way out. Again, no idea if this is how Hector is assembled, just thought I'd share.

So I have an email in to dr Eeyore, still awaiting a response. In the mean time I was looking around the internet for any sort of generic volume wheel that I could possibly use. Any ideas of anything I could maybe make work? I've done soldering and wire splicing before so that's not an issue.

Thanks for the advice. What ended up working was changing the hz from 800 to 44100.

I recently watched a YouTube video where someone makes a copy cassette tape to play in Teddy. I decided to try this but I'm having some problems. I got the tracks into audacity fine, I made sure the audio is on the left and the animation signals on the right, but when I put the copy tape in Teddy he has a little trouble animating. Anyone else tried this and have suggestions? I'm using a metal tape deck bear like the video suggested.

I have a Teddy with a very broken volume/on/off wheel. It's pretty much beyond repair. (At least what I can repair). I know this is a long shot, but anybody have a spare volume wheel I could purchase??? I know my other option is to just buy a "parts" bear, but I've never had the guts to part out a whole Teddy. But if somebody else already did that and has a volume wheel... Lol. I keep checking eBay for spare parts, but in the mean time I thought I'd ask here.

Yeah, I probably did it wrong, it was a while ago. But I'm curious why would all tapes have these tabs punched out if most 1 gens don't have the switch?

That's odd because I tried it with a first generation.
