Absolute rule that should be the primary rule! But let's cut htucker a little slack here. We all started somewhere knowing nothing about these guys, or something similar. We all learned....usually by doing. And if you haven't at some point made some really bad mistake along the way...sometimes even when you actually already knew what you were doing...you are either very lucky or have a very bad memory. Screwing up is always part of the learning process, and usually provides more valuable if also sometimes more costly lessons. Our friend here dug in and gave it a try. But he and others up the road will screw up and come here asking for advice. I know a bit about these guys. Others know a lot more. Dr. Eeyore, who likely knows as much as anyone on them, was my saviour and mentor...still is. She never criticized my dumb questions but patiently gave me advice and information. Let's all follow that model here. I think that's something we can all agree on.

htucker, you're SUPPOSED TO SCREW IT IN or else it won't play. Don't try porting Teddy's tape player into another Teddy. You'd basically waste 2 Teddys. I would do that, but the problem is that teddy's plugs or cables that plug in to the board are unplugged. I completely forgot which one goes where. Why didn't you mark them down and take a few pictures of them?? That's what you're supposed to do before you unplug them! I guess all you can do now is guess which one goes where.

Metal tape players are more reliable and are less likely to fail than plastic ones. The plastic ones were made during the end of WOW, and so they're cheaper and they are more rushed than metal tape deck ones.

Unique? Almost every interactive toy now has the same LCD eyes and app. That is everywhere today, and not unique at all! It would have been unique if they released a toy with proper animatronics. Because that does not exist today. I would appreciate knowing just what interactive toy you're talking about has LCD eyes that behave like the ones on this new Teddy. The app is of course not as unique of a feature, as many interactive toys and other devices are going in that direction. Proper animatronics are both expensive to engineer/produce and hard to use as a selling point. I really wouldn't expect that on such a toy. All versions of Furby from 2012 onwards have LCD eyes, those Xeno things have LCD eyes, and that new Cabbage Patch Baby has LCD eyes. There's definitely way more, but those are all the ones I can list off the top of my head.

I've never seen that! I wish I could buy it, but I've spent all my money on Christmas.

Perhaps it had the live action come dream with me tonight on it, but it says it's fully animated. The come dream with me tonight video did have animated segments (I think) so I think it's come dream with me tonight.

I honestly don't think this will be all that bad. I don't like his eyes or how he looks so "chibi" now, but I really think that Wicked Cool Toys have their heart in the right place. It seems like they really have put forth an effort, unlike the Yes Teddy, and maybe the Playskool Teddy.

There's nothing wrong with making a petition to try to change something you don't like, but the way you set up this petition was really disrespectful to Wicked Cool Toys. You made it seem as if they didn't try at all with bringing back the new Teddy, even though I don't like his new design I can see that some thought went into trying to make him appeal to the new generation.

I don't advise you to send yours to Dr. Betty. She's a good person but her repairs aren't the best. One of my friends got a snoopy repaired by her and the plug for the upper jaw was plugged into the socket to the ears, and vice versa. He was able to correct it.

same here. it's really unrealistic. furbys are supposed to be from above the clouds with their own language and culture, etc. they aren't even supposed to know about pop culture and stuff. btw, are you "Dollking" on the adoptafurby forums? Yes! I agree! They are supposed to be from another world! The new Furbies are like, if a Furby was injected with human DNA in some experiment... And the Connects do not even speak proper Furbish... Yes I am DollKing on Adoptafurby! Awesome! I'm Furby Man on Adoptafurby!

That's true, but they still could have done things to make him more close to the original. They could have made the snout more like the original or playschool Teddy. The new snout makes him look like a baby, not like a 16 - 17 year old. The button down vest looks alright, and I don't mind the jeans. The blue eyes are ok, but they should make the pupils way smaller and tone down the blue, it's so vibrant it looks unnatural. The LCD eyes could work if they are used correctly. For example, having snowflakes in his eyes if he's singing "Snowflakes are falling" or if he's singing lullabies, having his eyes half closed towards the end as if he's getting sleepy. I also think they should add in plastic eyelids like in the furby connect, so teddy's eyes don't go black when you're done using him.
