I helped Alchemy consolidate some archives in 2014. I had my hands on the Gimmick prototype, the original Teddy prototype and a lot of other coolness.
Unfortunately I can't share any pictures at this time.
I just wanted to verify that there was one, and that he was a great rendition of the character, as seen in the books and cartoons.
I own two plaster mockups, (about the size of the WoW Grubby and The Yes! Teddy) of Teddy and Grubby that were used to create the action figures that went with The Airship. One of the Fob characters from the ABC TV movie, and maybe one or two other things that would be unique to share. There will be a new website coming from me next year. Maybe I will put those up there.

I've held the Gimmick prototype in my hands.
It's a very faithful rendering.
There was a lot of feedback in those days about how "Nobody wanted to have an old man as a toy." It was the victim of that.

DollyPrince- I take it their friend got that in reply to a comment or question. It's the modern day equivalent of a form letter. I'm sure someone copied and pasted a bunch of them yesterday.

Thank you for your inquiry and for taking the time to share your feedback with us. While we can’t share more information on Teddy Ruxpin at this time, please note that we are working side by side with the original creators and team of Teddy Ruxpin. We are balancing a passion and desire to bring Teddy Ruxpin to a new generation of kids with a deep appreciation to those who have embraced Teddy Ruxpin for so many decades. With that being said, we will be happy to pass along your feedback to our team for their consideration. We thank you for your patience and understanding and for taking the time to reach out to us with your feedback. Best, Roxanne My friend sent me this... and it really annoys me... Well... I'm breaking my silence on the issue a little bit with this... I won't speak for anyone else. However - as, certainly, the moderator of the largest Teddy Ruxpin community on the internet - I have never heard from them. A question, to ask for a suggestion, nor even an email saying "Hey! We're launching this today." Take that for what it's worth.

One thought I had skimming through this thread - enough to get me out of hibernation!
It was Tweeg, the Villain, who did what?
Started a fight between perfectly good friends.
I hope this will remain a place everyone can share their well-deserved opinion, without any name calling or other needless negativity.
The world is too full of that, as it is.
It's been my pleasure to be the moderator of this website for 18 years. As that draws to a close, I hope to close it the way I started it - having fun.
Watch for a new project from me sometime in 2017. This forum will remain up as long as it doesn't become a problem to moderate.
Please be considerate of each other. I think everyone has a right to their opinions, here.

YES! had artwork re-commissioned (remember, Teddy changed into a red shirt and jeans for a minute in the 90's for about 10 storybooks. Gimme a minute and I'll come up with a list. Depressingly, they ruined some of the original art by pasting a red-shirt over Teddy's original outfit on some of the WoW masters.

It would be fascinating to see photos! Please share. And, since I've once again been away for way too long, a belated welcome to our forums!
I own a couple of rare pieces now too that I need to share photos of- including plaster mockups of Teddy & Grubby that Ken hand crafted as they were getting things designed back in '84.
While assisting AlchemyII with archive consolidation last year I also was able to photograph the Gimmick prototype.

I think Teddy will be in good hands. Fans need not worry about that.
Alchemy began in Ken's garage in the early 80's. Alchemy's work pre-Teddy was still centered around the Entertainment industry. Ken and the Alchemists created the animatronic costumes used in the "Welcome To Pooh Corner." TV series - and then began working on how to make that technology viable in a smaller product, which resulted in Teddy coming to life, and the rest is history.

puppetvision - As I said in my Tweet - thanks so much for your blog post, and thanks for joining us here as well. In a world that just shared news of Fred Phelps' demise, I'm glad to see Ken is getting a proper tribute that is deserving of what a wonderful man he was.

It is with an extremely heavy heart that I pass along the news that Ken Forsse, Teddy's creator and a dear friend, has passed away. Please keep his family, friends and the fellow Alchemists in your thoughts & prayers during this difficult time. I am looking into ways we can share our thoughts with his family via an online method and will pass that along as soon as I decide on the best way to do it. Thank you All.

In the mid 90's Ken and his wife Jan created a new character called Branson Bear. Branson had two storybooks - The Kite Contest, and The Honeyberry Pie - as well as a couple of albums of music released on audiocassette. They hoped Branson would become a feature in Branson, Missouri.
The music and stories, along with the illustrations from an artist named John Moore, are of the highest quality - just like Teddy. If you ever run across one I highly recommend picking them up.

The previous posters have been correct - AlchemyII, Inc. is the rights holder. Home Video is currently licensed to Madacy, but once again AlchemyII is also still the owner of the rights to the TV show.

Welcome to the boards, Finn. Everyone here has given you excellent advice. I personally would purchase one from Dr. Eeyore if I was starting a collection. You'll be purchasing one that has been refurbished and inspected and is guaranteed to be in working order. Adding to the collection is a better time to gamble on a slightly better price on Ebay. Please stick around and share your adventures. We enjoy having new members. Again, Welcome! ~Josh

Hi Beavis, welcome to the boards, sorry I haven't introduced myself yet.
Unfortunately I can't allow any trading or posting of any pirated stuff here on the boards, even though I know you're not intending to profit off of it. If I let one person get away with it, then I'd have to let the people who are really looking to do some damage do it too.
Thanks for your cooperation. Please stay around and chat with us about any and all things Teddy related.
