Good idea You can add illiopoctopede@gmail.com as a reference, as me and Illiopoctopedemusic on here co-own it. We'd always be up to help with fixing any WOW character.

Great concept! It will build, but wonder if there is a way to cull out the many posts and replies here over time that have dealt with repair issues with the WoW toys. There is already a good deal of information that has been periodically posted on the page. Were there some way to gather it together and transfer it, the information would really get off the ground.

Is there any advice on repairing a Backpack Toys Teddy? I just got one whose in really good shape but his bottom jaw seems to move only a little bit. His motor is also quite noisy and I think I hear clicking when his mouth moves. Is that normal?

I've never seen a backpack teddy repair attempted, but I suppose it could be done (can't imagine why though, they are pretty bad!) The jaws on those Teddies break a lot, and they don't really move all that much to begin with. I suppose if you opened his head up and replaced the drive belts (which are usually the problem) he could be fixed. I'm betting it's similar to a playskool in format. As for the motor and clicking, I have no idea. The clicking is probably the programming bleeding into the audio.

That's okay. The sound quality is really good, which is the important thing for me. Thinking about it, my first Teddy, a WCT one, has a jaw that clicks in a similar way when it closes. He's always been that way so I'm not too worried.

If you read a comment I posted here a few minutes ago in response to the Backpack Teddy question, disregard please. Brain Cramp...the information related to the YES Teddy, and not Backpack Teddy.

In my opinion it was the sturdiest iteration of all the Ruxpins, other than the WCT version. I gave one to my granddaughter, she dropped it on its nose countless times without any damage. The whole audio and control mechanism is digital, hardly anything to break. Its animation mechanics it is almost identical to WOWIIgen/Playskool, but it has only one belt and the other pulleys are replaced by toothed gears. This arrangement is longer lasting than the belt/pulley arrangement. Also the nose/mouth parts are made with thicker and stronger pivot parts than the Playskool ones. Also the body is very well made, with separate layer for the extremities and separate from the body itself. I made several hybrid Teddies, using parts from WOW II gen bears and mechanisms from Backpack versions. youtu.be/R62h0X26qJUI love the cartridge arrangement of the Teddy, the audio is clear and using the cartridges is foolproof. Here is a picture of my final hybrid version. It is made from a Backpack Teddy body with its electronics plus its animation mechanism with WOW eyes, nose and mouth mated to the mechanics and the "skin" of the same WOW head. Here is a picture how he looks: And here is a short video: youtu.be/ulLp6Ae9_HM

Hello there! I can probably help you with finding out what to do with snoopy, as most WOW toys share similar designs with eachother. ALl you need to do is specify the issue. -Does the Tape player work? -Does the character animate properly? -Does your Snoopy even turn on? If you specify the details in your issue, I can surely find a way to help you out.
One thing I usually do to fix a broken volume wheel is to open the cassette door and check the issue. Usually for me its when a screw on the wheel comes loose or snaps. I usually either screw it back in or replace the wheels screw. This always did the job for my Teddy Ruxpin in the past, and I hope it works well for you!
Thank you for your interest in my Thread.

Hi guys, it's me! I have a problem myself with my Talker that I need your help with.
In repairing my WOW Talking Mickey Mouse, the bottom right screw port of the toy snapped off of the frame, and I was wondering if you could help me. This results in many issues, which include-
-Mickeys audio sounding distorted -His animation ceasing to operate correctly -Sometimes, nothing even happens -I have to press my hand against the corner to even get it to work.
I have had this issue for a couple months, and I have tried numerous attempts to adhese the corner to the frame, but it usually comes undone within a couple of days.
Does anyone know a way to repair this, or is there any place where I can easily find replacement parts for him? Thank you very much for your help!

Have you tried using heat to melt the plastic and mold it back into the shape it should be back onto the frame? That could work. I also find strong epoxy glue sets plastic back in to place relatively well.
If that doesn't work, I'd look into buying a broken or for parts Mickey and use him, no surprise, for parts (the frame).

I just got a WoW Teddy. He's in beautiful condition and the audio is crystal clear. There is a problem, though. The servos don't move while he talks, probably due to disuse. He was very stiff initially. At first, there was no movement at all. I tried moving his jaws and eyes very gently, which reduced the stiffness. They have started moving when I turn him on, which lasts for a couple of seconds and stops. Has anybody seen this before? Will I need to open him up to get him working properly? I'd really like to fix the problem.
Thanks.

Hello, there!
I'll be honest with you, I have never heard anyone with this issue before, but I will try my best to give my theory.
judging by your post, your teddy has just recentky started moving his servos, which could imply that the toy is still struggling to operate after years of no use,
so continue working his motors for a few weeks, and he may hopefully return to normal.
If the problem still persists, there might be something wrong with the wiring on your Ruxpin, so I would open the cassette desk to check his servo circuitry, if there is anything faulty occuring.
You can use many of the references at the top to compare your bear. It could also be due to something sticking in the servos. This happened with my grubby, as the fur surrounding his eyes halted their movement. I had to readjust it to fix the issue.
That is my guess as of what to do. I am by no means a professional, and you can email people like Dr Eeyore about advice on this topic, to get some
better advice.
