Yes, some songs and the stories themselves are shortened. Kids really DO have shorter attention spans nowadays, and I know for a fact the average little kid isn't gonna sit there for 20 minutes. Maybe in the past, but certainly not now. And shortening "Your Friend" isn't that bad in my opinion. It drags, to be honest.

It drags? I don't think so. I am saddened that they have shortened it. I wish they hadn't.

Yeah, I don't think shortening "My Friend" was a bad decision. It drones on at some points and cutting out 1 or 2 verses doesn't ruin the song.

I will post a review of the new version of Teddy sometime next month, after I receive one. I will save most of my thoughts for then, but I'd like to jump in here briefly. I haven't really taken an official position on the new toy because I hadn't seen one or had any interaction with one. I first saw one (a late prototype) last month and was very pleased with it. I imagine I will be even more pleased with the final version. The songs being edited - we've seen that before, when the television series used shortened versions. I think sometimes they may even flow a little better with the story. I think they received honest feedback from children about the length of the stories and songs and adjusted them to make the most impact on their target audience. Do I prefer the unedited versions, myself? Absolutely. I would enjoy the full length stories and songs being available for adults and children who may have a broader attention span, or who are interested in storytelling or music. This is perhaps something we can suggest in the future. There is certainly a market for Teddy Ruxpin media among a wider audience, but from a business and creative standpoint, it makes sense to focus current efforts on establishing Teddy's relationship with a new generation of children first. They need Teddy as much as he needs them and if this suits the current marketplace best and will allow Teddy to capture the maximum number of new imaginations, I'm good with it. This is a good discussion, though. I look forward to diving deeper into it once I've heard the complete collection of Wicked Cool's editions.

I have been to the 2017 NY Toy Fair and saw him (I was scared at first).

Have they added any new stories to the App Store yet? Just wondering.

Teddy Ruxpin's Christmas has been available since Day 1 actually Showbiz NC, it's not new. I've purchased all the stories for the new Teddy Ruxpin. I did suggest to WCT that they could have a setting within the app that allows you to select whether you want to hear the full stories or the edited/shortened versions, they haven't implemented that yet as far as I know, but let's hope they will. I understand more stories will be released next year.

I hope Love Songs is released- that's one of my favorites. Lullabies II would be nice too.

Do we know if they will consider allowing Teddy to follow along with a book in the future? I haven't interacted with the new Teddys, but the lack of books makes it a dealbreaker for me.

There is a version fo this new Teddy Ruxpin that comes with 3 books, you can only get it from QVC and it's a limited edition product. I'm not seriously bothered by the fact there are no physical books for the new Teddy Ruxpin for the most part, I don't see that as being a problem. Remember, you don't always need Teddy Ruxpin to be connected to a smartphone or tablet just to play the stories.

When you get yours, can you guys let me know if they remove the Children's Safety Message at the end of The Missing Princess? I'm guessing they would to save time, but I've always thought that message was very important, and the last song is one of my all time favorites. I got mine recently. the qvc story book edition. the missing princess dose not have the safety message or the songs. I I've listened and it was replaced by the song wishing in bout the middle of the story and a little at the end. I don't know why wishing was in there. It had no context to be in the story. Also isn't wishing in the story tweeg and the bounders. also the discover the world song in the airship is not there anymore. p.s. some of the storys are animated like the book pictures move.

Hi,
I just got my first Teddy. When I downloaded the stories I noticed something weird. At the beginning of "The Day Teddy Met Grubby", Teddy's voice is pitched really low. The batteries are new and Grubby's voice is fine. It gets better after a minute. Has anybody else noticed the same thing? Sparkpikachu
