I do not reccommend ToysThatTalk. I have heard some terrible things about her repairs.
Most of her "restored toys" are also much too slow. It is as if she cannot hear properly, so she does not know if the toy plays slow or not.

He also made this video: m.youtube.com/watch?v=-aGyR4EcKp0Another person said that she swapped motor plug-ins into the circuit board.... You should not trust someone just because they are "nice".

On the original question, I don't think you can really ever come up with an estimate of a reasonable time to fix these guys (or anything else for that matter) until you know the extent of the problems involved. I've fixed one that had sat unused for over 20 years in 20 minutes, and at the same time have come across a few that exhibit confounding problems that have taken a lot of time to diagnose and fix.

Dr. Betty is excellent. She's giving me a free Grubby and she's repaired my Teddy before, very happy. My Teddy needs motor repairs and maybe the drive belt/pinch roller needs replacing, but honesty- great person and if you're looking for a doctor at any time of year, Dr. Betty is the one. Working with Dr. Eeyore was a struggle as she told me it would cost hundreds of dollars and that she was on vacation, couldn't talk, etc.

From personal experience.... Toysthattalk is NOT a good repair person... every talker I ever got repaired by her came back not functioning properly or not fully restored. I say, save your money and send your talking toys to Dr. Eeyore when she's available.

Having no experience dealing with ToysthatTalk or Dr.Betty, I have nothing that I could add to the conversation concerning the quality of therepairs. But with the mention of dealing with Dr. Eyeore being a struggle, I do have to comment. Her availability is limited at times, and she only does repair and restoration in the summer months. But those things are pretty clearly stated on her website. I don't think anyone is going to create a thriving full time business repairing Teddy Ruxpins or other talking toys. Its more an avocation for Dr. Eyeore than a business. She is retired and travels extensively, but also is an active writer. So her plate is rather full. Yet she certainly is one of the most experienced people out there in terms of repair and restoration of WoW toys. In terms of being helpful, she's great and freely provides advice and information to people who want to try to fix their own Teddies. In fact she encourages that. No her services may be beyond what some could justify for a toy restoration in terms of their personal budgets. That's understandable. But she does provide a full repair and restoration and warrants her work.

I don't advise you to send yours to Dr. Betty. She's a good person but her repairs aren't the best. One of my friends got a snoopy repaired by her and the plug for the upper jaw was plugged into the socket to the ears, and vice versa. He was able to correct it.

If you are looking at repairs in Europe, let me know and I can help you. If you are in the USA I like to help but the cost of shipping would be far too much to make it worth while. The only other way I can help is if you have a someone coming over to the UK they can bring it with them if they can get it to me I can get them repaired same day (providing they do not need washing) Hope this helps, Regards Kevin teddyruxpinhospital.com

Anyway, if you people would take the time to give Dr. Betty a TAPE, she would test it and see if anything was wrong after she repaired it. Until you guys meet the necessary standards for her, I wouldn't go complaining about it.

Hi Yes, I have a blue eyed Teddy and no its not for sale. I am not sure what you mean by
"if you people would take the time to give Dr. Betty a TAPE, she would test it and see if anything was wrong after she repaired it. Until you guys meet the necessary standards for her, I wouldn't go complaining about it."
Dr Betty has never contacted me about a tape, and I have no idea about necessary standards, can you elaborate? It may be better of you can contact me directly on Info@teddyruxpinhospital.com
