I'm hopeful Teddy will make a comeback on the large or small screen. I'm not getting my hopes up for another toy release, although that would certainly make me happy too. Unfortunately the economy isn't conducive right now to people investing money in doing anything properly. The toy market in particular is reverting to a lot of low technology brands as people are watching every dime. I'd rather have someone manufacture replacement parts for the WoW bear than have a retread of the Yes! version. If someone came along and did it justice though, nothing would make me happier. I think something on screen is more realistic at this point for the property, though.
And I am psyched for June and the new DVD release!

Oh yeah I didnt really think about that but yes I'm very excited for the DVD release.Im hoping the audio is better on it though. The millcreek warble was a distraction at times but yeah also about the toy I was thinking a whole new version not a retread of yes entertainment. I'm thinking he could be atleast as big as the worlds of wonders and take 5 c batteries. He would have animated eyebrows aswell as animated eyes and mouth. And he could have all the accessories all the other versions had and a connected port for the new accessories. And I think he should come with the tunic and a free little bonus the yes entertainment clothes. And he could look a little closer to the books, cartoons, and movie but yeah that's all. Or maybe they could just keep selling backpack toys teddy or even resell the worlds of wonder. I'm not really sure about the toy but the DVD very excited about though.

and a movie would be very cool too. But I'd rather have it animated though kinda like that new Winnie the pooh movie. I'm not a big fan of that super realistic cgi though.

I think the question is, who ISN'T looking forward to the new DVD release? ;D but yeah also about the toy I was thinking a whole new version not a retread of yes entertainment. I'm thinking he could be atleast as big as the worlds of wonders and take 5 c batteries. He would have animated eyebrows aswell as animated eyes and mouth. And he could have all the accessories all the other versions had and a connected port for the new accessories. Or maybe they could just keep selling backpack toys teddy or even resell the worlds of wonder. As I mentioned in another thread, this is just completely unfeasible, even in a good economy, unfortunately. Not just due to costs (though those are a huge part of why this would be near-enough impossible to do) - such a thing would be a nightmare from a design perspective, too; There's a reason that Teddy has traditionally "kept it simple" with the technology available.

I hope I can get the DVD when it comes out. If they're coming out with a new one, I won't even bother trying to get the old one with the bad audio.

Hi everyone, some of you will recognise my username because it's the same as my YouTube username. I became aware of these posts to this forum some weeks ago thanks to the YouTube user teddysonicfan90. I should start out by saying that I am far more interested in the Teddy Ruxpin toy rather than the cartoon, OK, I like the cartoon, I don't hate the cartoon, it's Teddy Ruxpin after all, however I much prefer the story books and tapes just because I do. Josh, I totally understand all your points about the financial climate and people not wanting to invest in anything right now, but that deeply saddens me if it means we won't see another Teddy Ruxpin toy, I can't begin to express how much that could potentially break my heart if nobody chose to make a new Teddy Ruxpin toy in the future, I've read the synopsis for this upcoming DVD box set and noted the sentence at the end saying that Teddy Ruxpin "is still available as a new-and-imporoved talking doll toy", of course we know that's no true because BPT don't make Teddy Ruxpin anymore and haven't since 2010 as we know. If planning for this DVD started around the time BPT were still producing Teddy Ruxpin the synopsis would be true, but if indeed that's when planning started, surely there's been enough time for the synopsis to be edited and that final sentence removed should no manufacturer chose to develop a new Teddy Ruxpin, if no new version of Teddy Ruxpin is forthcoming why does the synopsis hint at a "new-and-improved toy?" Also I should point out teddysonicfan90 that even if a new version of Teddy Ruxpin does become available they couldn't resell the original cassette tape based World Of Wonder version, Sony stopped producing cassette tape players last year and I don't know if they still make cassettes anymore, I believe it's still possible to buy cassette tapes, but that won't be the case for very much longer, cassettes have been around since the 1960's ad major manufacturers are migrating away from the format and have been doing so for years. I hope Image Entertainment release these DVD outside of the American Region 1 system, I'm in Australia and we use PAL DVD region 4, it would be wonderful to see region 4 versions of this box set available here, also, I'd love to see the cartoons being available for download on iTunes and other download services. I'm wondering if it's worth someone contacting Image Entertainment to see if they can shed any light on what they're referring to in the last sentence of the synopsis. I know realistically it's not looking good for a new Teddy Ruxpin toy, and that seriously upsets me, it really really really does, if they're going to mention that Teddy Ruxpin is still available in the DVD synopsis I want to see some substance to the sentence.

But, wouldn't kids these days, think the show looks dated compared to other cartoons they watch? I mean, how many kids would watch the 1980s/1990s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon, when they have a "better" and flashier version in the 2000s TMNT animated series? I know there's no new version of Teddy Ruxpin on tv these days, but, if they put reruns of the show on tv, it'd be for fans like us who watched it when we were kids. I'd love to see it on tv again, on a daily cycle like in the old days, I just don't know if we, the fans would be the ones keeping it on the air, rather than kids who would've watched it had they been born in the '80s, like we were.

That's good. I guess I'm just thinking about all the horrible cartoons that are going on the air, or the amount of comic book based cartoons that seem to be on the air all the time. It just seems that comic book and super hero cartoons have taken over the cartoon landscape these days. Don't get me wrong I love comic books and super hero cartoons, but they keep coming out with more and more, and that's what kids seem to like these days. As for the younger kids, hopefully, those watching Teddy Ruxpin, don't expect a Barney type show, because they'll be very disappointed.
But, it would be cool to see The Adventures of Teddy Ruxpin on television in daily installments, five days a week, continuously, without worrying about whether it'll be taken off the air.

I think it would be cool to air them on a channel that has classic cartoons. Probably a lot of the audience would be the people who grew up with it, but I think there are still kids who would love it if someone played it for them. I think everybody thinks kids don't care about older stuff, but if they could be exposed to it, I think they would like it.

In Canada we have Teletoon Retro, which airs classic cartoons from the '60s, '70s, '80s, and '90s. Teletoon is basically the Canadian version of the Cartoon Network.

The Adventures of Teddy Ruxpin would be an excellent addition to the Teletoon Retro lineup.
