I've added a fourth Episode to the Episode Guide... one of my favorite ten or fifteen episodes of the series.... "The Faded Fobs" check it out .. ruxpin.we.bs/fadedfobs.html For those of you who may be navigating the site off of Bookmarks... I switched the secondary pages of the site to a bannerless host which means only the homepage is on the TeddyRuxpinOnline.org domain. I am still uploading pages to both sites just in case I experience a crash at the bannerless host, but I'm only posting to the domain once or twice a month instead of each time I update so if you are navigating by old bookmarks from before the site re-design you may not see the latest stuff. Let me know what you all think about the Episode guide as well. I'm planning on doing 2 or 3 episodes a month for now.. not planning anything in chronological order.. so if you like a particular episode feel free to jump in and send me your review (include screencaps if you want & are able... if not I will be happy to capture them myself) I've got a seperate section going for "Grubby's Romance" storyline & episode so that is the only one off-limits. I'd like to have all of the episodes reviewed and then move on to Book Reviews from "The Adventure Series" next year sometime. Thanks! Josh

Just FYI for everyone, three or four new episodes will be posted in the next week or so on the Ep. guide... "Captured" reviewed by Vincent Conroy, and "Tweeg Gets the Tweezles" , "King Nogburt's Castle" and "The Rainbow Mine" by myself. If anyone would like to join the review process let me know which episodes you'd like to do. If anyone would like to take the Wizardland/Ying Zoo episodes that would be especially great as that's the one block of shows I didn't really care for.

If anyone would like to take the Wizardland/Ying Zoo episodes that would be especially great as that's the one block of shows I didn't really care for. You monster. No, I'm just kidding. It's just the fact that the Ying Zoo arc contains some of my favourite episodes ever, including "Tweeg the vegetable", which is my all time favourite. In fact, I consider the Ying Zoo arc (and the preceding one about the Hermit and the return to the Hard-To-Find-City, to be the pinnacle of the entire show. (The final ten episodes would also come into mind, but they lack something very important to me: childhood memories, since I only got to see those episodes for the first time two years ago.) I'm not sure if I could manage to write them flawlessly in English, but if you would like to fix a few grammatical errors, I would like to do a couple of reviews. Favourite episodes that come into mind are no. 38, 39, 40, 42, 43, 45, but I could also do the other Ying Zoo episodes if you want.

I agree that the Ying Zoo episodes are really interesting because many questions start to get answered. I'd love to read some of these Episode guides when they are finished. Maybe if I can find some spare time, I could write a few as well.

I'll see if I can whip up a few. The weekend's coming up, so I might be able to get one or two done.

Kayla and Lead,
Great to have you both on board and glad you are interesting in contributing to the guide. I may do double reviews of some episodes... with both myself and a 'guest' reviewer taking a crack at it... as the discussion of the Ying Zoo episodes proves, we all have different likes and dislikes and it may be kinda cool to have a couple of different people's opinion on an episodes. Other episodes I may elect just to have one review up (either myself or guest reviewer) so any & all reviews are welcome. I think with this kind of strategy it could work out to be by far the best resource on the web for the TV show.
Vincent Conroy has reviewed "Captured" one of his favorite episodes and that will be posted up this weekend along with my reviews of "King Nogburt's Castle" and "Tweeg Gets the Tweezles".
Lead, I will be happy to edit a bit for you and don't worry about your english... I had no idea by reading your posts that you weren't a native speaker.

Good. I was a little concerned about that, in case I happened to review the same episode that someone else did.
Should we follow the style that you have, or do it our own way?
EDIT: I've finished a review on "Octopede Sailors." I also have the live-action pilot episode if you want me to review that.

Kayla,
Sounds great. I would like to keep the guide seamless in it's review style for the most part but like I said I may have multiple reviews of each episode so that will work. Feel free to send away. Did you get screencaps or would you like me to?
josh@teddyruxpinonline.org is where you can email it. I'll credit you on the top of the page as the reviewer, let me know what name you'd like to be credited under and if you'd like your email posted or not.
Thanks! Josh

Good. I think I'll leave the screencapping to you.
EDIT: I'll also be sending a review of "Wizardweek."

I'm almost through the 3rd DVD boxed set. I just got it last week and have been squeezing in episodes whenever I have spare minutes. So far I really love the Father's Day Episode and the Fugitives episodes the best from this set. I'd love to write guides to those two episodes.

I've been doing some newspaper research and have found out that the first five episodes of the series aired as a mini-series the week of March 9th, 1987. That's why Teddy's voiceover at the end of those episodes mention the new series "next year." The regular series started September 21st, and several stations repeated the miniseries shortly before that, some the week before.

If you don't have a screenshot of something, I could always sketch it if you need me to.

Snowpeck, I had known the first block of eps. was a preview but didn't know it had aired so early... that explains the early start date (Sept. 1986- a year before the series premiered) It must have been during that lag that the writers' strike happened as Jeff Wilson mentioned as well. I researched awhile back and tried to find out when the series had last aired in the U.S. 1992 in the Chicago market was the latest airing that I could find proof of. It was also Chicago-9 TV that I watched the TV series on as a tyke before my parents moved in '90, there are lots of cool old Bozo The Clown previews and some neat Cheers teasers on my old tapes... as great as the new DVDs are and as lucky as I feel to finally have the old series, nothing will ever quite replace watching them from the original syndication taped recordings Ahh... nostalgia.

Heh, I can imagine. My only experiences with actual VHS Teddy episodes were the ones licensed by HiTops or something of the sort.
It would be rather hard for me to remember taped episodes since the animated series debuted the year I was born. I'm rather proud that Teddy (at least his animated incarnation) is the same age as me. ;D

Ah yes the HiTops videos.... they are rather cool in themselves as they had those live-action scenes at the beginning (of most) I'm still looking for brand-new unopened copies of those (obviously quite rare at this late date) for some of the add-ins that were included in those including the "Family Tree" and the Friendship Postcard that was included in the "Grubby's Romance" edition.
Yes! also produced some of these... maybe they would be easier to find unopened.
It's funny, and I've mentioned it before, that as rare as the final 3/4 of this series was to find, the first quarter of it's episodes were perhaps the most widely available of any 1980's cartoon series.... the mass produced copies from WoW, then the Yes! videos, then the "Teddy Ruxpin Movie" then the first five episodes on DVD from FNP.
