I just found this thread and would like to contribute. I like reading, mainly audiobooks as well. I especially like ones narrated by a full cast, like Phillip Polman's His Dark Materials, which are like hearing a play. I also like radio dramas, watching TV and movies. I like a lot of classic shows, including I Love Lucy, MASH and The Partridge Family. I like comedies too, including The Big Bang Theory and The Goldbergs. Cooking is something else I enjoy, when I have the time. I also love animals. I have dogs and cats who are a lot of fun to be with. They love getting attention.

I am so happy I found this thread! Aside from Teddy Ruxpin, I like other '80s and '90s shows such as the 1987 to 1996 incarnation of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, - though there are a few things in that cartoon which I have found rather painful in the last few years such as the stereotyped Asian characters and pseudo Asian names. Don't get me wrong, I love the 1987 - 1996 TMNT -, Care Bears, Star Trek, several old anime cartoons from the '90s such as Chibi Maruko chan, Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z among many other shows which I enjoyed watching. Aside from the above mentioned shows, I also followed many Indian TV shows and movies (Bollywood) since 2004.
And aside from TV, I like learning about different countries, cultures, languages and religions and reading books and watching shows related to those subjects, trying food from different cultures, going to different places, visiting friends and relatives, spending time alone etc. Also, I am multilingual!

Oh, cool. What languages do you speak?
I can speak Hindi, Punjabi and Tamil at varying levels of fluency and can read and write all three languages, Also, I can read Sanskrit, the liturgical language of Hinduism and know and understand many Sanskrit words. I can understand Urdu through Hindi and can read it almost fluently. And finally, I can read Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam, Sinhala (the official language of Sri Lanka) and Dhivehi (the official language of Maldives) scripts and know a few simple words and phrases from those languages. Outside of South Asian languages, I do also know some basic words and phrases from Irish Gaelic, Scottish Gaelic, Ukrainian, Japanese, Hawaiian, Spanish, German, French, Tagalog etc. Aside from my ancestral languages, Irish Gaelic, Scottish Gaelic and Ukrainian, I was not really interested in the languages of Europe. Rather, I was more into more exotic languages from Africa and Asia as well as several of the indigenous languages from the Americas and the Pacific.

So far it seems we have a pretty eclectic bunch here. As for me...
In terms of collectibles, I have an interest in other toys...a collection of Gilbert Erector Sets and some Meccano, as well as Lionel Electric Trains as the biggies. But also some odd things at smaller levels. Erector Sets actually stretch beyond just Erector to many of the other varied Gilbert Company Toys. And The trains feed on the interest in repair, as running a model railroad does involve a lot of that type of work.
I took up running at age 58 with retirement looming, and ran my first 5K race at age 60. Done well over 200 races since and ran my first marathon (and maybe my only marathon) at age 65, but have well over 30 half marathons done. Lately I've cut back some due to the combination of nagging injuries and increased costs of races, but still get out there regularly, as well as just running in the park. I think anyone facing retirement needs to look at a plan to undertake regular physical activity as it is way too easy to become a couch potato with the negative effects that will come with that.
Also a musician and play a number of instruments....guitar, bass, organ, a little piano, accordion, harmonica, a bit of drumming, trumpet, and just a few weeks back decided to teach myself to fiddle...a fun instrument even though my playing right now is up and down, meaning pretty good some days and not so good others. But keeping at it.
Had been into car restoration and have some project cars in process...really waiting until the spirit moves me as it is the type of thing that is too easily screwed up of you are not doing it because you want to but because you feel you have to. It will be picked up at some point.

That's cool that you speak a bit of Irish Gaelic. I can speak a bit of that as well, but I'm afraid to do it in front of anybody as I'm out of practice.
