I've tried to redesign Teddy again based on the image and link I sent to Josh, days ago. What do people think of this design and would it work for a new Live Action? Hope you all are okay. Attachments:

The eyes feel wrong for some reason.

Now that looks quite nice and very realistic all the way.

It's wonderful artwork, but works better for Burl than Teddy.... Teddy was sixteen in the story and this rendering just looks a bit older. With a gray spot in a couple of places this is Burl all the way.

Possibly a way to make him look younger is remove the pocketting his lower eyelids are creating. And maybe bring the tan fur above his nose down a bit closer to his nose.
I agree with Josh, very Burl but a little too old for Teddy.

I'll try again later. So... less pocketing around the eyes, and different eyes. Another image with gray spots for Burl. YAY!
Thanks everyone!!!

Hey there! I think I already commented on this at Deviant Art, but if you didn't find it. I'll drop a few notes here. First and foremost I love how you captured the "Bear" aspect of Teddy here, making him look more animal like than teddy bear. It adds a certain level of realism. I particularly like how you rendered his fur, and his eyes have a soft gentle quality about them. He looks older, so I imagine that this would be Teddy at mid life. Which is pretty cool. He looks intelligent yet retains his caring demeanor. I think you could do with dropping a shadow behind him, in a separate layer. And make the b/g a nice gradient of greens. Add a separate layer on top and use a transparent black then erase and run a gaussin blur. This is what I call the "Easy Rembrandt" technique. Then it'd be, like, awesome man... awesome.

Oh, I was practicing skin tones and did this one for Arin. Kinda channelled a bit of Castlevania here as well. LOL PS: Josh, you were planning some changes. Can you let me know via my Yahoo email address what I can do? Attachments:

Ooooo, I like em both.
Teddy looks younger now, more approachable.
And Arin is bordering on evil. Very well done.

Ah, I was trying to go for a 'challenger' expression for Arin.

I love the changes to Teddy. I think he looks gentler, and younger. Very well done. Arin looks like he is ready for his own spin-off! Wow! Very nicely done! Can't wait to see what everyone comes up with for the gallery!

I really like the changes you made to Teddy.
Arin...
Arin Arin Arin.... yeah he has a definite "challenger" air about him. Although, I would not say he looks evil, just ready to kick some demonic tail.
**holds Cassia back** "Demons WHERE?! Let me at em! FOR THE KINGDOM OF NOGBURT!!" "Forth, and fear no darkness! Arise! Arise, Riders of Nogburt! Spears shall be shaken, shields shall be splintered! A sword day... a red day... ere the sun rises! Now is the hour! Riders of Grundo! Oaths you have taken, now fulfill them all, to Lord and land!"
**aside** wrong movie Cassia....

I'm trying to cut back, but there are so many "epic" quotes that I couldn't resist.
