I was just browsing eBay, and came across an interesting auction for a 1991 Worlds of Wonder retailer catalogue. This is from the final year that Worlds of Wonder produced the Teddy Ruxpin toy-line (and would have been the third catalogue that promoted Teddy II, since Teddy II was introduced in 1988).
After seeing the second of the images provided in the auction listing, I felt compelled to post about it here. This particular image shows a line of four noise-making (I can't tell if they talked or not) and moving plush animals, titled "The World of Teddy Ruxpin: Forest Babies". Take a look for yourselves;
Unfortunately, apart from the heading "Snuggly Animal Babies Scamper And Chatter", which clues us in on what the toys did, the text is too small and fuzzy to read. That said, you can very clearly see the line's logo and a small piece of promotional artwork for this line, depicting an idyllic forest scene - I'm presuming that this image would have been used for the backdrop of the packaging, which you can see on the left-hand page. We can also see that the titular Forest Babies are, from left to right, a beaver, a skunk, a raccoon (my favourite of the four, by far - he's really cute), and an owl.
I can't help but wonder if these four critters might have had something to do with Amber's introduction, at some point, since we know that she's a vet, and according to a small piece of descriptive text on the Animation Fascination website, she was supposed to help forest animals.
If anyone is interested in the other images from the auction, I have uploaded them here, heree, and here (this last one shows WoW's version of the smaller-model Mother Goose, which I'm not sure they ever actually got to store shelves before they went under - I'm only aware of PlaySkool producing this model for retail sale).
